Don't use a laser myself, but it's like iron sights, except off-set in some direction. I'd aim it so that it was parallel to the line of sight. Then you'd only have to worry about the vertical aiming component. Of course, the dot would always be off by that 1" or so on whatever side it was mounted on.

They were obviously hiding Osama while taking billions in aid. How can you build a compound with 18ft walls within a half a mile from West Point and keep the inhabitants secret for 6 years?? Then there's Obama playing up his handling of the terrorist Osama, while his DOJ is preventing indictments of domestic terrorists and even giving citizenship to convicted terrorists. Disturbing.

We've got a few plants in containers waiting to go outisde. I don't think it's been above 40 here. I almost got stuck in the foot high ruts of ice on the road by the range, I forgot they don't do maintenance back there.

I wouldn't say 'ashamed'. Obviously they're selling enough of those to do ok. It's up to us not to buy what is basically junk ammo. I don't buy Remington rimfire ammo at all anymore. It's problem prone and not accurate in my guns. The lack of accuracy is mostly excusable, as different guns favor different ammo, but the ammo's unreliability is just deplorable. I think I understand what's going there. Many years ago I worked in a box factory where we made,, among others, boxes for Pennzoil and GE light bulbs. We took extreme care with the Pennzoil boxes and and practcially no care whatsoever with the GE boxes. As a result we could run the Pennzoil boxes at around 7,000/hour and the GE boxes at up to 27,000/hr. GE didn't care. The customer has to care, otherwise ....

A Harley biker is riding by the zoo in Washington , DC when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull her Inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents. The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly. A reporter has watched the whole event. The reporter addressing the Harley rider says, 'Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I've seen a man do in my whole life.' The Harley rider replies, 'Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger and acted as I felt right.' The reporter says, 'Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed. I'm a journalist, and tomorrow's paper will have this story on the front page...So, what do you do for a living and what political affiliation do you have?' The biker replies, 'I'm a U.S. Marine and a Republican.' The journalist leaves. The following morning the biker buys the paper to see news of his actions, and reads, on the front page: U.S. MARINE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT AND STEALS HIS LUNCH

Yup, quite long; that's why I gave the 28 minute mark to skip ahead to. What I really found to be most interesting in the first 28 minutes was when they were talking about dedicated uppers. The Tactical Solutions gentleman pointed out that one doesn't have to worry about lead ouling one's .5.56, in the throat and gas system, with a dedicated upper. Since I favor the conversion, for several reasons, I found that info of use and I reckon I'll be paying special attention to those areas now. As to the weight issue, it's clear cut. There is no comparison to walking up a mountain with a lightweight, as opposed to a normal weight rifle. It's just not a contest.

While the whole vid is interesting, they display some of the complete weapons beginning at the 28.20 minute mark. Some fantastic looking, and light, .22s both handguns and long guns. Love that first Ruger they show and the surpressed SBR four inch barreled rifle I should add that I love the lightweight guns, but they do have their drawbacks. I have an AR 7 with an aluminum/steel barrel and spent maybe a half hour about a couple months ago filing and sanding the crown after having dropped, and damaged, it. Aluminum is just softer than steel, no way to get around that.

Although not versatile enough for carrying all the things in this cinstance, MidwayUSA has some really inexpensive pistol cases. In fact, at eight bucks they're so inexpensive I fail to see how they can possibly be made at the price.

Just read "The Hammer and the Cross" by Harry Harrison, and evidently co-written with Tolkien scholar Tom Shippey. It's fiction, alternate history of a sort, but incredibly realistic. Brutal though, and not for the faint of heart. It was, however, utterly fascinating. Reminded me of The Chosen, The Stone Dance of the Chameleon, by Ricardo Pinto; which, as an aside, goes beyond cruel and into the unfathomably vicious. However, the atmosphere in both books, and the realism of the particular cultures is something to behold.

I'd only need three. I favor the modular concept. AR/5.56 with .22 conversion. Good for defense, small game, SHTF and light carry. Single shot, with shotgun and rifle barrel, 6.5mm in my case, as it's good for long distance and hunting just about any medium, and larger, game in a pinch. Any number of 9mm pistols would do me, although I wouldn't be averse to a .44 special revolver.
