Hey everyone, I just released a bolt catch that works with .22 conversion uppers. I figured this would be the place to get some good feedback.

The first three people to post in this thread will get a free piece.

FAQ -

What is this bolt catch compatible with?

It is compatible with:

Spike’s Tactical dedicated upper receivers

Spike’s Tactical conversion bolts

Ceiner kit conversion bolts

Tactical Solutions upper receivers - slight modification might be needed

Other similar Atchisson style bolts

We are working on a version 2 that will be compatible with Colt conversion bolts and

M261 conversion bolts.

Does this bolt catch feature a last round bolt hold open?

The bolt catch does not by itself, but Black Dog Magazine's V3 magazine has a modified follower that will give true last round hold open. With the combination of the new magazines and the bolt catch, the rifle will function like a standard AR-15.

This will not work with full auto rifles

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we will ship anywhere you would like. International shipping is $4 a piece.

This bolt catch is only compatible with .22 conversions. In the future we will be coming out with a dual caliber version but it's still a ways out.

http://www.ARCatch22.com

Now I have the .22 conversion kit, the .223 bolt carrier group spends more time out of the rifle than in it. I know they're pretty tough but does anyone know if there is a protective container sold by anyone to put one in?

Right now it is in a zip lock bag in the gun cabinette, but I want to take it with me to the range so I can shoot some of the .22 and some .223.

I went to the range today to function test my Spike's Tactical-15 with the CMMG Evolution Conversion in it. Happily I can report I din not have a single malfuntion of any kind.

I ordered CMMG's magazine loader because loading the mags last night was a bear.

I had not had time to get my Spikes ST-15 ready for shooting with the CMMG Evolution Conversion kit. After I get the magazines prepped I'll be ready to go for a range trip tomorrow.

Honestly, telling me to take a file or sandpaper to the bosses on the rear of the mags slightly freaked me out. I've finished the first one and am now ready to do the other 2. At first if I got the mag fully seated before sanding the bosses I had to use a dowel and small mallet to tap them back out, no amount of pulling was going to get it out.

Hi all, I'm a new member here. I joined because I will shortly be building a .22LR tactical AR15 for plinking and practice if the government will let me. I currently have a 5.56mm ar15 bullet buttoned for home defense and target practice (whenever I want to throw cash down range). I don't know how many of you guys are from California. I'm pretty sure all you know the bull* we have to go through to get AR and AK series rifles.

My questions are in building an .22LR AR15 rifle would a conversion kit be better or a dedicated upper?

I'm a real big DIY and I like picking and choosing my parts for my rifle. Do they sell Dedicated uppers by themselves?

Last questions is a legal one. When dropping in a .22LR conversion kit into a AR15 would it now be considered a non Assault Rifle since it's a Rimfire. Meaning I will be able to put a magazine button that works and have a rifle that measures less than 30"

Thank you for all your input will try to post pictures of my current rifle and build rifle.

Alex

First, by eliminating all play between the conversion and receiver, reliability is improved. Secondly, for trainers and armorers, it makes it more difficult to remove and "tinker" with the conversion which greatly reduces down time due to "unauthorized" cleanings or dis-assembly.
