  1. Thanks for the info. I'm only interested in adding the SD look up front, I am not adding a stock (can't afford the tax stamp right now).
  2. I've noticed the SD conversion kit that is now available for GSG rifles. I really like the look of the forearm/fake supressor, and would like to add it to my GSG 5p pistol. My question....does the SD conversion kit work on the pistols? I believe that the rifles have permanently attached fake supressors, so is the SD conversion supressor a "slip over" supressor? How would I go about getting that same look for my 5p pistol? -Thanks
  3. Does anybody know where I could find a replacement fixed/factory stock for the gsg 5 rifle online? I know people that upgrade to retractable stocks occasional sell their original stocks in the classifieds, but does anybody know of any websites that offer them? -Thanks
  4. Kilibreaux, Thank you for the outstanding analysis and explanation for my problem. You have totally shed light on why this is occurring. I will probably switch to better rounds (CCI), and might get myself a fake suppressor also (I've been looking for an excuse to do so). -Thanks again
  5. Ok, thanks for the help. Perhaps it is a combination of the cold as well as the Remington ammo.
  6. I currently own a GSG 5p pistol with about 800-1000 rounds through it. The gun has never been 100% reliable, but seems to do better on some days than others. Periodically I have noticed that the gun jams because a 22 shell is still stuck in the barrel, and did not extract. Sometimes the 22 shell is empty, and sometimes the bullet is still in it (and slightly bent). This past weekend I was shooting the GSG in the snow (about 20 degrees) ,and it was displaying this kind of malfunction constantly (multiple times per magazine). I was using Federal bulk ammo. The shells were jammed so badly into the bore on occasion that I had to use a flathead screwdriver to pry them out. Does anybody have any idea what's going on with my gun? I clean it regularly. Is it possible that the GSG's don't like the cold?
  7. Thanks for the info. I currently have a rifle rest for the front, but nothing on the rear. Perhaps I'll bring some kind of rest for the rear.
  8. My first scope arrived today. It is a Bushnell 4X32 .22 rimfire scope, and I am planning on attaching it to my savage 300 stevens bolt action 22lr rifle. The rifle is used only for plinking at 50 to 100 yards. I picked this scope because of the relative affordability along with the inclusion of rings in the package. I have never owned a scoped firearm before, so this will be a learning experience. How does one sight in a scope? Does anybody have any good tips or pointers for me? -Thanks -Dan
  9. New .22 enthusiast here! I always scoffed at the 22 platform until I got into shooting, and started spending tons of money on ammo. My first 22 was a Savage 300 stevens, am amazingly accurate little bolt action that I just ordered a scope for. I just purchased a GSG-5P MP5 pistol in 22LR, and cannot wait for it to arrive. There are so many cool toys out there made for this platform, I don't even know where to begin. I love the fact that I can shoot all day for under 20 bucks in ammo, and I think I will be buying many more 22s.
