I posted pictures and some info on the rat trap trigger mod on the old posting
-
So now trigger is in housing ,then side pin back in ,raise that spring to engage the groove ,you will now need to wiggle that safety pin in ,remember trigger spring goes under ,then you will need to slighty pry up on the detent spring on the other side to get the pin tru ,once pin is tru put selector back onthen re-insert roll pin ..hopefully you put your new trigger spring on before you did all this. Hope this helps .How long will it last? its not the same quality of spring that came from Sig .Is it more better? hell yea that stock spring SUCKS . And 1 thing I try and work over an open drawer on my work table if anything falls or drops it will usually catch it for me .In this trigger mod I had no springs or parts that wanted to pop or fly across the room ,its fairly simple to do ,I took my apart by trial and error, only error was not knowing trigger pin was grooved and that took a few minutes to get out.
-
Now ya gotta put it all back and some fat asshole told you to take it apart and you listened to him ???The only hard part was not knowing you had to depress a spring loaded lever on the trigger, sorry I don't know what its called ,to get it back in the housing .Yep depress that little thing and it goes in without a fight .
-
Ok you got the safety selector pin out ,you pushed down the spring and pushed out the trigger pin ,so go ahead and lift out the trigger nothing falls off or flies off ,fairly simple ,now lay out the springs side by side and start trimming and bending.
-
-
Now you will have pushed out the shaft that the safety selector is attached to ,that spring on the inside right that rode in the safety detents will now be able to be pushed downwards, this un-locks the trigger pin ,it is a grooved pin spring rides in groove ,dont try and beat that pin out it will almost fall out when that spring is out of the groove.
-
Okiee ,I guess the real step 1 is getting your sig apart to match up the springs. 1st as always check to see if its un-loaded ,then push out the 2 push pins ,seperate the lower from upper ,now you will need to drift out a small roll pin on the safety selector .Then push pin out from left to right .note the spring that rides in the safety detents this comes up in the next step

Ok picture 1 is a victor rat trap with the stock sig trigger spring in the middle ,note you will need to take apart the rat trap and cut the main snap spring in 1/2 .It was the plastic rat trap sold at depo in a twin pack . 1 of the spring halves is very similar you will need to trim and a few small bends ,its not a drop in fit.

Got the rat trap trigger mod to the range today ,very windy by the river ,but was able to hit clays offhand at 100 yds with a 7 X scope ,the trigger is a vast improvement over stock and I had no problems with trigger reset or anything else .
-
I can post pictures if you like ,its fairly simple to do ,the trigger was a little tricky to get back in the housing the 1st time out .But the trigger still lacks feel to it ,just long mush then snap .Its just a much easier pull now .
-
I saw on the web to take a AR15 hammer spring cut it in 1/2 a few bends and it will replace the stock trigger spring for a better pull,Well the AR 15 springs are cheap 1.50 at brownells ,but 9 bucks shipping .So I was looking around and got a victors rat trap otta the garage cut that spring in half and put it in ,will try her out next week at the range ,it really reduced the pull weight ,but still not alotta feel to that trigger before it breaks .
-
OK made it to the range today ,but couldn't mount scope the rings I had were to low to clear scope bell ,I had intended on mounting my 36x target scope and bench rest rifle to see how it would group . So with the open sights I more or less just fired for function and break in . I had with me federal blue box ,some wolf and crap some off brand ,but anyhow it feed, fired ,and extracted every rnd no problems at all ,so far so good. It feels good off hand better than the sig ,the trigger is just as heavy but more feel to it . The sig shoots better ,but my ammo was limited and this rifle is new ,The Sig is lacking a true bolt open on last shot ,but it does have a bolt release ,It does hold open on the mag but if you release mag without setting the manual hold the bolt will go forward .The ISSC has a bolt hold on last shot but not a bolt release you gotta pull the charging handle ,to me its more natural to hit the bolt release after yrs of AR 15 shooting . Well anyhow I'm glad I have both ,looking forward to many more . Its good to get away from the serious target guns and just plink away .

I had a loose screw in the buttstock section ,thanks for your post now I'll check all the screws .
-
Found out some of the wobble in stock was a loose allen screw ,open the stock and on the bottom of the stock side is an allen screw tighten this up and 1/2 of the wobble was gone .I put a beveled rubber faucet washer inside stock and that took up the rest . will post pics soon .

Day 2 with the ISSC the range is a washout today ,but I fixed alot of the play in the buttstock with foam pipe insulation .The frt sight I pulled out the brass plug (watch for small spring and bearing) and cleaned up the hole with a small round file put it all back together and got nice positive clicks for my elevation now ,seems that the hole was to small or the paint filled in part of the hole . If anyone has the same problem that brass cap is not threaded ,I just levered it out with a tiny allen wrench . The rifle on display didn't have the play in the buttstock in fact it was hard to open ,but I see no easy fix except for the foam .
