  1. Thanks for all the replies. I am still trying to decide on what I am going to do.
  2. Thanks Madhouse I will look into the BSA
  3. Thanks imschur, this will be a big help. I think I remember which way to mount it but that's about it. lol
  4. Thanks guys happy to be here.
  5. Hi guys, new guy to the site and in need of some advise. I have been away from shooting for a looooong time and want to get some optics for my new 522. I want to shoot say from 25 yards out to 100 yards and be able (hopefully) to see the holes in the targets without buying a spotting scope. I would like some of the new bells and whistles ( Mil dot? red or green cross hairs ? not sure of all the terminology ) but like everyone else money is tight so say up to $150. I would like a scope, I think, better than one of the dot things ( as I said been a long time, lol). The last rifle I had with a scope was in the early 70's so the more info the better. Is there a site I can go to to update my self on scopes and lights? The Sig came with a set of cheap ( Williams ) iron sights so I did my best to mount them. I want to be able to use both, so I guess I also need info on mounts I can see thru. I just want to mount it and not have to re sight it every time I shoot it. thanks for the help.
  6. Sorry I can't post pic at this time. I have been out in the garage messing with it and got them mounted but it sure is a cheesy way, in my opinion, to mount a front sight. The front is a circle with a post and the rear has a sight aperture. There are marks on the gas block and the front sight so I aligned them. Looks like all of the adjustment is in the rear sight. I have never put sights on a gun so I don't know is this is normal. Any more insight would be great thanks.
  7. Hello all. I just got a 522 and it came with Williams fixed sights but not installed. Has anyone used these? Looks like the front sight is attached to the gas block and the rear just goes on the Pic. rail. The gas block doesn't seem to be very sturdy for mounting a sight on. I am just getting back into shooting and would like to also mount some type of scope or device to help my not so young eyes, but I also think the iron sights should go on the rifle as well. thanks in advance for your help
  8. Hello everyone. I just purchased a Sig 522 Classic and wanted to join the forum to learn more about the AR styled .22's. Glad to find this site.
