  1. Anyone have any ideas where I can get spare mags for this thing?
  2. thinking of picking one up......anyone have any thoughts?? I have it narrowed down to that, S&W M&P .22, or the Sig Mosquito. Thanks guys!
  3. bdavison is 100% right. what you see in my pics is the stock grip that came with it. all i did was lay a soldering iron to it. while from his pics of his grip its obvious he only used the very tip of the iron. in my pics, you can see that I laid my iron on its side to get more of a 'channel' effect. he's also right....it really does take about 30 mins or so. BD- looks GREAT brother. anyone can do this, but i caution you....dont use an iron that you care about. the one i use cost me about $15. doing this WILL ruin the tip. also, if youre doing it for the 1st time, try it out on a backstrap, or another grip you dont care about that way you can try different angles/techniques and not worry about jacking up your go-to grip. hope it helps.
  4. Somehow wound up in the "Journey through Islam" park wearing a t-shirt that reads 'MAJOR INFIDEL". Apparently, they dont take too kindly to the question "Do you guys sell bomber jackets in here?" at the gift shop. Just a fair warning if any of you wind up there by accident......
  5. thanks guys. I got the pics uploaded to the post below this one.
  6. I've done this on my M&P and Glock hand guns. It makes a serious difference in this Florida heat. I figured I could always change the grip if I had to....looks like I wont have to. Hope you all approve.
  7. I'm trying to upload and post some pics of my 15-22 but the system says the file is too big. Help?
  8. Does anyone make a clamp on type? Mine has the A-2 style flash hider, and i really dont want to mess with that, or get anyhting threaded. Anyone point me in the right direction?
  9. 79.97+14.00 shipping
  10. im honestly not sure which model it is. I agreed to buy it from a local guy i know and I didnt ask. too late now that Ive given him my word for the sale. Oh, well. guess I'll have to figure something out. I do know it has a carry handle (removable) and already has optics and a quad rail. Thanks for the info, bud.
  11. Magpul ASAP, Drago double rifle discreet case (awesome price). MP-15, Colt M4.22, 3 S&W 25 cap mags, Truglo holosight. heres a link to the bag pic. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/LargeImage.aspx?sku=MOLLE-353&subimage=A
  12. Does anyone know if the carry handle and front sight post are removable, and how difficult is it to do so? thanks.
  13. Hey, great info and answers. Thanks for taking the time to break everything down for me. Having been in the Tactical Handgun side of competition the first thing I thought of was 'what can I do to this thing?'. From what I've read so far, this would be a knee jerk reaction. I'll talk to the gunsmiths I know locally about the can and I think that'll be all I'd want to do at this point. Again, thanks for the answers. Good stuff!
  14. Just a couple of questions before I get hot and heavy with my 15-22. 1-If I wanted to put a flash hider, or a fake can on it do I need to file ATF paperwork for that? also, what if I wanted to shorten the barrel length a tad? 2- Can anyone point me in the right direction for upgrading the trigger (its a longer pull than I would like to have) 3- do you guys have any tips/tricks to make the gun run smoother/faster? I plan to run rim fire tactical matches with it which is why I'm asking the above questions, (I'm not one of those guys that wants to turn it in a full auto machine gun at the range) and I'm fairly new to the tactical/ar/rifle world. I'm a hand gun guy. My thoughts about it is if I'm going to go down this road with my 15-22, I want to have as much fun as possible, but I also want to do things right the first time. All comments are welcomed, as well as any insight. Thanks for looking.
  15. New to the AR world, but I've been shooting tactical hand gun in various associations for quite some time. Shot a buddy's M&P 15-22 and decided to get one. Then, did some research and didn't really know that people everywhere were customizing the hell out of them. Naturally, this has seriously motivated me into customizing/upgrading my own for some fun (pics to follow when I get back from offshore). Did a little more research and found out my local range has .22 carbine tactical matches, as well as a rim-fire class in the steel challenge. Thanks for the forum. I'm looking forward to swapping tips, and learning new info. Joe
