Ok didn't know where to post this so since I have a 416 I posted here. After I got my 416 I completely stripped it and cleaned it Went out and fired maybe 200 rounds through it got home and the entire action has a sandy crunch sound to it, Started cleaning it and saw the action was completely covered in black residue so I completely stripped it again. Put it back together fired 20 rounds and the sound and gunk is back. Is this normal for a .22?? can this be remedied?? any tips for keeping it clean?? :P
It's been awhile since I posted, my GSG 1911 I sanded the finish off of the lower rail slides with some 1000 grit sand paper used a little gun lube and now it runs like a champ. Everyone who's shot it can't believe how well it shoots.
The other day I finaly filled my ammo can, so I got curious as to how many round I had in there the final count was around 6790 rounds of .22. So how many rounds do you have?
well I tried reinstalling the magazine safety lever and it made no difference, but after disassembling it and reassembling it again it seems to catch more often. so it is something internal. And I don't know the inner workings of a 1911 so I am thinking that one of the leaf springs is missing it's catch. What do you think?
ok, today i removed my magazine safety from my GSG 1911. it functions the same but now the hammer won't catch if I physically pull it back. If I pull the slide back it will lock but not the other way around. So is this normal? is this the same on the .45 cal version? I haven't fired it yet but I,m a little concerned. Any feedback would be appreciated. ???
I know there's a screw on the front sight. But they've put some industrial strength Loctite on the threads. I;m thinking a blow torch on low would be enough to melt that loctite and allow the screw to come out.
OK I've been trying for like 5 hours to get this front sight off but still no luck. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. here's what I've tried. 1 rem oil 2 soldering iron 3 direct flame from candle 4 break parts cleaner 5 freezing with propane 6 paint thinner tomorrow I'm going to try a blow torch, and if that doesn't work. IT'S DREMEL TIME!!!
Both the manufacturer as well as the gun store I bought my GSG 1911 from said that I could only run hyper velocity ammunition through my new gun. Is this true? what kind of ammo have you put through yours?
Hey just a simple introduction. I'm from Baxter, Iowa. I own a Mossberg Tactical .22lr, and a GSG 1911. I recently fixed my dads Remington Nylon 66, so that could be added to my arsenal. I found this sight and thought it would be useful if I ever have any problems. Thanks
