Yes it's carbine. I have no way at home to verify which height is correct, the gas block riser or the mini riser. I suspect they both will but not positive. I found the gas block riser here. At $17 theres not much risk. I think I will order one as well

Just checked. The rail on the MOE is too high. I need to do one of the following, machine some of the base of the rail, shorten the front sight post, use a sight meant for the gas block or get a gas block riser. No big deal. Ill start with the sight post :)

At 50 yards I could not get the sights adjusted enough to get on paper. I need a different or modified front sight post. I tried the front sight on the same plane as the rear and on the gas block. The result was I had to aim at a nail either at the top or bottom of the target frame. It was funny actually. Thinking just now I need to look at the rail on the MOE handguard or the hanguard itself. It's a tight and maybe it didnt seat properly. There was no issues with a scope.

Depends on what you have for a configuration. Mine in the picture is really light, similar to an M4. It feels like a BB gun compared to my Colt when it has the 20" inch barrel, carry handle and A2 stock. probably as light as your going to get with out going polymer.

How about this. You get an inexpensive AR-15 and get a dedicated .22lr upper from CMMG. The change from .22r to .223 is 30 seconds

I have procrastinated enough. Friday depending on the weather I am either going fishing or visiting a dealer thats a custom 1911 shop. Over the phone we threw around building a Caspian frame for the Marvel kit. If the weather is too bad to fish Im going to order the Caspian just the way I want it

A few things to consider. Most semi autos function will improve with use. Not all pistols work well with all ammunition. If you are using a gun for defense. It's important to find ammunition that is 100 percent reliable with your handgun. Look to the premium ammo for that application. Federal Hydrashocks, Winchester Silvertips, Cor Bon, Golden Sabers, Hornady etc. Find one that works and stick with it (for defense). For cheap shooting the Winchester USA, Federal Ammerican Eagle and Remington UMC stuff is all generally pretty good but it is still ecoconomy ammunition. If you want to go for group sizes look to something like the Federal Gold Medal Match. While other ammo is capeable of great accuracy the Federal is near the best in a lot of weapons. Shooter fatigue and a weak grip can cause malfunctions. Let me simplify: Dont buy an Epiphone and expect a Les Paul Supreme quality. Both can make a lot of noise and are fun but one has a lot more attention to detail.
