  1. Got an NAA Pug a few months ago and it was a revelation! I use it for dog-walking duty and around-the-house carry, tho I don't think I'd trust it in the big city; I have a PM9 for regular carry ... it's a wonderful gun, easy to shoot (no recoil, that was a surprise!), easy to care for and so light I don't even know I have it in my pocket ... got a fabric pocket holster from NAA, which also holds a reload (not likely to get used, given the production reloading is with these little terrors). I'm a huge fan ...
  2. :P Yep ... live about 30 miles north of Austin on Lake Travis ...
  3. I've owned a 4-inch Loaded Champion for several years; very accurate, very reliable ... it's my nightstand gun, loaded with Hornady Critical Defense rounds ...
  4. Two years ago, I decided I wanted a 1911 for carry ... however, the idea of carrying a 2-pound-plus full-size model was out of the question ... I did a little research and then, at the late lamented gun show in Austin, I spotted a NIB Kimber Ultra Carry II in all black for under $700 ... I grabbed it and have never been sorry .. the gun has been perfect since new, is my most accurate weapon at SD distances and beyond and is simply a joy to carry, at 25 oz unloaded ... I recommend them any time I get a guestion at the range and those who followed my advice say they are delighted ... I've heard some complaints on other forums, but for me, there isn't a better gun to carry if a .45 1911 is what you want ...
  5. One of my favorite guns is my NAA Pug in .22mag. For it's current duties, mainly carrying while walking my killer beagle, Shiner, I have it loaded with 30gr CCI TNT jhps, which are rated highly for expansion and impact. Wondering if anybody knows of a better round for SD ... and if you can suggest the best cheap training round ...
  6. Trying to be sympathetic ... last year in my neighborhood (central Texas) it was over 100 degrees 80 days! Could barely drag myself to the refrigerator for a beer, tho I did get out to the range when the temp cooled into the high 90s ... Call Al Gore for help ...
  7. Greetings from deep in the heart of Texas ... I'm a retired journalist, started shooting 20-odd years ago after a murder in my neighborhood (lived then in the People's Republic of Kahleforneeah) ... Since moving to Texas, I acquired a CHL and have increased my "arsenal", which now includes two rimfires -- a Smith 22a and my newest handgun, an NAA Pug in .22mag, which is my dog-walking gun and pretty much lives in my pocket when I'm home ... Found this site from a post on the Texas gun forum and looking forward to taking part ...
