Wow--Check this out.

I have both. The Ruger, in my opinion is twice the gun. I have a lot of failure to feed with the Mosquito. The Ruger rairly has a failure. I think that the Mosquito feels better in the hand, but it's just not the gun that the Ruger is. I am very pleased with the Ruger.

I just got a chance to make another trip to the range with mine. I put 200 rounds through it without any problems. I was there primarily to shoot my 1911 colt defender, but I would rotate between it and the GSG-22 and give myself a break from the recoil of the 45 ever so often. I finally put 100 rounds through the 45 then finished off with the 22. The GSG felt a lot like the 45 in your hands except when you pulled the trigger. It was a real pleasure to shoot. Previously I had made a trip to the range with the GSG when it was brand new and had a few failure to feed, but after the first 200 rounds and a good cleaning and lubrication this trip was a complete success.

I bought a GSG 1911 .22 last week after finally giving up on Colt\Umarex shipping the 1911 .22 Colt and finally made it to the range yesterday. It shoots on target with the sights as installed by the factory. It is well made and feels almost identical to my 1911 45. I put 200 rounds through it and had a couple of failure to feed until I learned to leave one round out of the clip. After that it was flawless. I don't think I'll be sorry I didn't wait for the Colt\Umarex version, but maybe I'll change my mind after seeing one. For now I think I made the right move with the GSG. :thumb:

Thanks for the welcome. As I mentioned in the first post, I ordered a Colt 1911 .22 from my local firearms dealer back in November, but I haven't heard anything about delivery. Well, I just got an e-mail from Umarex stating that the 1911 will be available to their distributors around the middle/last part of February. I hope this might help with anyone else who might be waiting to get their hands on a Colt 1911 .22. Hopefully these dates will be correct.

Just thought I'd say hello. It looks like this is a very informative website. I've been lurking some as I bought a new Colt M4 .22 a few months ago and have been enjoying it so much that I ordered the Colt 1911 .22 back in November as it was supposed to be at the dealers on November 12th. Since then Umarex removed the delivery date of November 12th from their website and I have yet to see one. Just hoping that delivery is soon. Temped to go with the GSG 1911, but would really like to have the Colt.
