  1. Thank you all for the warm welcome. Denver Guns and Ammo say they'll have my HK in this week. Gee, just in time for Christmas. C:-)

    CCI stingers

I've looked at the specs on both Stingers and Velocitors. The Stinger is a 32 grain bullet, the Velocitor launches a 40 grain bullet. Muzzle velocity of the Stinger is in excess of 1,600 fps and the Velocitor clocks at I believe 1,500 fps or so. However, where it becomes interesting is muzzle energy and energy at 100 yards. The Velocitor has more energy at 100 yards than the Stinger by some 20 foot pounds (101 vs. 81). Also, the bullet out of the Velocitor round remains intact and mushrooms rather nicely. The Stinger tends to splinter and/or fragment. I've fired all CCI preferred rounds out of my M&P 15-22, to include the CCI AR rounds. ALL of them functioned flawlessly. Remington Golden failed to fire on two occasions, failed to feed three times. As such, CCI will be the ONLY ammunition I will run through my tactical 22's. No exception unless someone comes up with my dream .22 which is a pointed boat tail 40 grain bullet. I can dream, right? If it can be done for the .17 HMR, why not for a .22 LR? C:-)
  3. Like all of you, I bought an M&P 15-22 and love it! As for ammunition, I'm shooting CCI exclusively. CCI makes an AR .22 round that was developed specifically for .22 LR AR's and used the M&P 15-22 as the test weapon. Also CCI Stinger and CCI Velocitor work flawlessly as well. The instruction book lists which ammo is recommended and which is NOT. C:-)
  4. My name is John Sampson. I live in Strasburg, CO and just recently bought an S&W M&P 15-22 and love it. The .22 LR cartridge is oftentimes maligned as being anemic. I disagree. It is the one cartridge that has withstood the test of time. I am looking to purchase an HK 416 D .22 manufactured by Carl Walther in Germany and imported by UMAREX. This net is a welcome oasis for those who own .22 Tactical rifles. i am a retired Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent and former NY Police officer and a veteran of the US Coast Guard Reserve. Thanks for hosting this site.
