Has anyone had trouble zeroing the M4 .22? My windage knob does not bottom out at the 6/3 mark. When I have it set at 6/3 it does not sit flush with the bottom. I can continue to rotate it farther down, but not far enough to get back to the 6/3 mark.
I just picked mine up last night so I haven't had a lot of time with it, but so far that's the only issue I see with it is the dust cover. On mine I can get it to close, but when I cycle the bolt I have to do so with some force in order to get the dust cover to open. That doesn't seem right to me, it should open fairly easily I would assume. You can see the dust cover binding when the charging handle is pulled back. At this point I'm not even sure I want to close the dust cover because I'm afraid it will damage the bolt somehow. Does replacing the dust cover with a better version alleviate this problem or is this just one of the shortcomings the rifle has?
Making the obligatory first post. Just picked up my Colt M4 .22LR carbine last night from my local FFL. Bought it to replace the Mossberg 715FT .22LR I have. The Mossberg was a nice gun for the price, but I needed something better since I have recently gotten into steel rimfire competitions. I originally was looking at getting the S&W MP15-22 to accompany the M&P .22 pistol I already have, but I stopped by my local FFL yesterday and as fate would have it, he had the Colt M4 carbine sitting there just waiting. I'm really impressed with it so far out of the box. Leaps and bounds better than the Mossberg. I of course hopped on the 'net looking for a forum to see what mods are out there for them and here I am. I've already taken a look around and found a couple of answers. :thumb: Looking forward to shooting it today at the range. Maybe afterwards I'll have some questions, but in the meantime let the fun begin.
