Just finished a 325 pack that had outstanding accuracy. Just started a 525 pack, and accuracy went to hell with the Colt M-4. But when fired thru a Marlin bolt action, the same lot number shoots thru the same hole at 50 yds. Same outing, shooting BVAC ammo thru the Colt and it is nuts on. Emmery Posted September 23, 2010 Report Share Posted September 23, 2010 I have an extremely accurate lab scale (measures 10,000/gram) which I use to sort my federal bulk ammunition into 3 groups of weights. I know its tedious and time consuming but I do it while watching tV. It makes a huge difference in consistancy and and as long as I use ammo from the same weight group, IMHO, it shoots darn near the same consistancy as some of the match grade stuff out there that costs 3 times as much. When I really want to narrow it down more, I measure the rim thickness and sort out the weight groups even further. The ammo then gets put back in the clear plastic holders that keep them properly separated and they are marked as to what weight group they fall in.
