ajshooter22
Does anyone know where to get stock parts for the colt besides directly from them? I want to put a receiver extension and crane stock on my spr and I would like to see if there is a place that might have the parts cheaper. Thanks! rodent.22
I believe ANY mil-spec stock will work, but the receiver extension is Umarex ONLY. The threaded nut is there for looks only, there is actually a screw holding the extension to the lower. Research this further..... the receiver extension cap comes off by removing the set screw on the bottom of the extension. Then you can reach down to the base of the lower and remove the screw. wobblinwheel
Cheaper Than Dirt has a lot of the Umarex/Colt accessories a WHOLE LOT cheaper than Colt does (in most cases), but their crane stock (which is a great part for the price) has NO buffer tube with it. I have seen other manufacturers offering the same stock at more than THREE TIMES the price! I'm thinking maybe they have the tube with them? For $200?? I do know the Umarex tube is held in place by a single screw inside the tube. Don't see how it would interchange with the AR buffer tube which is held on by the big nut. You may have to find a Umarex original receiver extension (buffer tube), and then I believe most mil-spec collapsible stocks would work. I have noticed by the parts diagram that the SPR and the carbine have different part numbers for the lower receivers. Might be more complicated than we think. ajshooter22
Thanks for the help. ;D I know which parts I need to get but I guess I'll have to get most of them from colt and then the crane stock from CTD
