  1. It was a pretty costly adventure but I wanted to get it done as there's talks of Obama doing something about class III and NFA firearms. The guy I bought the Suppressors from is Major Malfunction. It should take about two weeks for him and my FFL to get approval on the transfers. Once the transfers are complete I need to do the form 4 for each. Thats $200 per tax stamp. If all goes well I should have the suppressors in hand late October early November. I bought the following: AAC Ti-RANT 45 (.45acp) AAC 762-SDN-6 (7.62,6.8,5.56) Silencerco Sparrow (.22lr) While I can use a few of them for multiple calibers it is not as effective as using one of the correct caliber. Should I financially and legally be able to I wouldnt mind a dedicated 5.56 and maybe a 40 or 9mm

    LC9

    They are great guns.
  3. If I can get the suppressors on order Monday the next call will be to Clark Custom. They informed me it's about a 10 day lead time. Not to shabby for a custom piece. I will be going with the 5.5" model. Pictures soon.
  4. I cant imagine there's a big margin in these. These things are a deal at retail
  5. I sorta had you in mind with this post.

    thats pretty slick
  8. Thanks I will look at those before I do anything.
  9. Great post. This ties in well to your previous about .22 for personal defense. I discussed that thread with a friend who is a die hard .22 shooter but also one of the thriftiest folks I know. His big concern with his .22's was they dont go bang every time you pull the trigger. I asked quite simply had he ever considered buying a good box of ammo and not the cheapest? That was followed by a light bulb going on over his head.
  10. Thats what I decided on. Thanks!

  15. Now from the NRA As we pass the six-month anniversary of the tragic Tucson shooting, multiple press reports indicate the Obama administration is planning to unveil new, but unspecified, gun control initiatives. At a Thursday briefing, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said, "As you know, the President directed the Attorney General to form working groups with key stakeholders to identify common-sense measures that would improve Americans' safety and security while fully respecting Second Amendment rights. That process is well underway at the Department of Justice with stakeholders on all sides working through these complex issues. And we expect to have some more specific announcements in the near future." Carney provided no further details on the initiatives, but he isn't the only one saying something is in the works. According to a related article on NPR.org, U.S. Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.) said, “I have spoken to the president. He is with me on [gun control], and it's just going to be when that opportunity comes forward that we're going to be able to go forward.” And longtime anti-gun activist Sarah Brady has said that in March, the president told her “I just want you to know that we are working on [gun control] ... We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar.” Rest assured we'll report any significant developments in the weeks ahead.
  16. I have also read reports (WSJ) that they are not pleased with gun trusts being used to "circumvent local laws" for NFA items. They are considering trusts a "loophole" that needs fixed.
  17. I wonder how many of the "tactical .22's" became a stepping stone to centerfire AR's from folks who might never have considered an AR previously
  18. What do you guys think?
