  1. Black dog won't work, neither does the ones for the new Colt. It's S&W only. :(
  2. All I have is a cheap red dot sight I got from www.Budsgunsupply.com Cost like $20, but it works ok.
  3. I have 4 Hi-Powers, and still want to get at least 2 more, a Browning Mk 3 and a Practical. I have 8 1911's at the moment, but will add more when I find one I "need".
  4. If you do get a chance to get one at a decent price, I suggest you jump on it, or at least tell me where it's at. ;D Nope. I carry a Kel-Tec PF9 in the summer time and in the winter, I carry one of these Hi-Powers or my Colt XSE Commander. See below -
  5. Dan Wesson has been making 1911's since 2000. They started with the Pointman, and have several models available now. They are kinda hard to find, from what I have been told, they only produce around 2500 pistols a year. Due to their popularity and scarcity, the price has gone up considerably. I bought mine used 2 years ago for $700, now they are going for $900-$1000. The quality is superb, I would even say higher than my Colts or Springfields 1911's.
  6. I reload my .45acp, 9mm, .38spl/.357mag, and .44mag. on a Dillon Square Deal B. I do not reload for my .223, 12 gauge, I don't shoot enough of either to justify the loader needed. I have about 7000 .22LR on hand, but as you already know, that can be gone in a few good weekends. Wally World needs to get more Federal 550 bulk pack in soon!
  7. A 24" HP widescreen is what I have at work and at home. I couldn't imagine running these as dual monitors. :o
  8. This is probably my favorite 1911 in my stable. Other side -
  9. Yes. I have not had any of my Federal bulk ever fail. The failures were with Remington lead. I no longer have anything but Federal bulk at my house. But I do have about 10,000 rounds ready to go. 8)
  10. That's what I thought. What about installing a pistol barrel + a silencer to make the required length on a rifle? I just ordered a threaded barrle for my Browning Buckmark to add a silencer and I want to get a rifle that I can fit a silencer to without being a 4 foot rifle barrel.
  11. I sent George Shepard of http://rrages.com a simple email asking some basic questions on the GSG-5, what I got in return, was a series of emails with details, answers, and suggestions all with a very helpful attitude. Way more than many people offer to give to someone that hasn't even spent a dime on their product. Anyone looking for GSG-5 accessories, definitely check out his site. I was thinking of getting one before I talked with George, now I know I will be getting one soon.
  12. I said the same for my Ciener kit. Great kits and work very well, just don't need it anymore.
  13. Can you fit a folding or collapsible stock to the pistol models?
  14. Is the shortage getting better, or is everyone still having an incredibly hard time finding ammo? Anyone have a special website they use to buy from that they would b willing to share?
  15. Excellent range report Madouse. If I didn't already have one, I would go out and get one today! 8)
  16. I love the look of these rifles, but have heard many rumors about being unreliable and less than desireable quality. For those that have one, what is your personal experience?
  17. Very nice Madhouse, that is sharp. I have never owned a Kimber, but currently have 8 1911's. I love them. The 1911 and Hi-Power are by far my favorite platforms. Like imschur, I would like one of thier .22 1911's, but they are kinda pricey.
  18. Nice looking unit Madhouse. I don't think I have ever seen a High Standard AR before. Who doesn't make an AR???? :D
  19. I have this kit. It has worked very well. Minimal failures, maybe 5 in 1000rds. I have shot Federal bulk pack ammo through mine exclusively, and I am impressed with the reliability. I love it. With that being said, now that I have bought my S&W 15-22,and will probably buy the Colt/Umarex version as well, I will probably sell this kit, as I know I will never shoot it again.
  20. Awesome pictures! Thanks Madhouse!!
  21. This is what I want to do at a later date. But like you said, I'll let someone else practice on their rifle first. If you get yours done, Please post some pics.
  22. Thanks for the welcome. I had my camera out shooting some shots of other guns, and didn't even think of getting a few of my new rifle. Maybe this weekend I'll shoot some and post them here.
  23. My first post here, and the first review! Background - I have had a Ciener 22 conversion kit for my Charles Daly M4LE for almost a year now, and it does work very well. However, I was getting tired of at the end of each session, having to swap back to the standard bolt and dumping a mag of 223 through it to "clear the gas tube". I don't know if this was really needed, but I was told that a long time ago and decided it was better to be safe than sorry. So much for cost savings. ::) Search - I checked out the "Colt" rifles, and while very nice in appearance, prices were close to $600. I handled one many times, but in the end, I wasn't going to pay that much. Then I walked into my new favorite dealers shop and he has this wicked S&W 15-22. I had seen only one other in another local shop, but it didn't last but a day there and sold for $469+tax. Once I handled it, I was very impressed. This rifle just feels "mean" (funny for a 22, I know), but I like it. I had to have it. He also had a NIB Springfield Loaded Stainless 1911, so it was deal time. I get the S&W for $409+tax. Needless to say, I was ver yhappy. I haven't got a chance to shoot it yet, so there will be a part 2 sometime soon.
