  1. There goes the neighborhood.
  2. It's in excellent shape. There were 3 rimfires altogether. One of the others is a Savage pump action, the mag is stamped 1903!!
  3. Might have solved it. Found this on Wikipedia: As the Scoremaster 511 was manufactured before 1968, these rifles do not have serial numbers. A two or three letter date code (indicating manufacture date) is stamped on left side of the barrel next to the receiver. Mine is stamped 30!
  4. I was given some guns today from an aging, ailing friend. Several of these were rimfires. Here is the challenge: Where do you find the serial number on a Remington Scoremaster model 511?
  5. That's nice!

  7. Looks like there's a built-in holster right there! Like when I jam my pistol down between the seats in my truck!
  8. Welcome fellow Texan! There are many great tactical rimfires out there, each and every one will come with personal opinions. So, here's mine. :) In the "tactical" realm, I highly recommend you look at the SigSauer 522. If you can stand to start off with a more "standard" style rifle, the 10/22 is probably the most configurable and customizable rifle out there. It is also one hell of a decent shooter right out of the box. Don't discount it just because it's not loaded with black plastic and pic rails all over it. :) Happy research / shopping !!
  9. Welcome fellow Houstonian! Did you get this at the Reliant show last weekend?
  10. Love it!
  11. So, this is a faux suppressor? Huh.
  12. I got to shoot my buddy's 416 yesterday, and you're exactly right, this is a quality rifle. Glad you're enjoying yours!

This is a fun gun! I ran 70 or 80 rounds of golden bullet through it and it ran perfectly. Love it!

So, I'm taking the GSG 1911 out later today, after class. In preparation I was cleaning it last night and realized, all barrels are threaded!! All I need it their specific adapter to get me to 1/2x28 for my suppressor.
  15. I looked for one at the gun show a couple of weeks ago, not one to be found.
  16. Welcome fellow Texan!

I haven't heard of anything like that, but that would rock.

That same buddy told me, however, that he is thinking about getting one of these, and since he has no suppressors, would be willing to upgrade to the other model, and trade barrels with me.

So, it turns out I'm an idiot. For what would have been an extra $13, I declined to pick up the model with the faux suppressor. I though, "Who needs a faux suppressor??". Now, what I neglected to realize right then was, HELLO!, a barrel with 1/2x28 threads. Unreal. My buddy mentioned it to me later that day. I could stick my SWR Spectre right on there. :bang:

Wow, they aren't cheap! I got six in the mail today from Tombstone Tactical, $29 each.

  22. I looked these over at the gun show this weekend, they were selling for $69, and they were selling. The table I stopped at were almost sold out.

I should have mentioned, I paid $315. Is this comparable to everybody else?
  24. I know this is an older thread, but when I picked up my GSG 1911 today my buddy grabbed a 416. He paid $528.
