i use a .22LR for home defense. but i know the limitations of that caliber. i practice head shots with high velocity round nose. high velocity HP may not penetrate thick skulled or overweight bad guys. -a|ex

we shouldn't be talking about this... i don't think the mods will approve. -a|ex

i may have to buy a number of these models before it gets discontinued or banned... -a|ex

i frequently take my kids to airsoft games. for me, it's good exercise. for the kids, it teaches them not to panic if they need to go up against armed bad guys. my only problem with airsoft is the high capacity magazines. 300 rounds just kills the simulation. there are 30 round magazines but when playing for 6 hours, swapping and loading gets old really quick. i usually tell my kids to use semi auto only during the games. since i train my kids to use my ps90 for home defense, there are several models of airsoft p90 replicas that i'm considering purchasing to simulate invasions at home. here's some vids of the games: -a|ex

i purchased an eotech 552 and XPS clone for my kid's airsoft m4's. but i tried it out on my sig 522 and fnh ps90 and surprisingly, they held zero. only had a few hundred rounds, so i'm not sure of it's longevity. here's a short review: the 552 optic is much better than the XPS. there is slight ghosting at higher brightness levels and the eye relief is good, the farther back, the larger the image. this clone came with flip covers. there is no mirror finish in the viewing glass but there is on the other end. this clone doesn't have the eotech logos. the XPS has an issue when your eye level is too low, the reticle starts to cut away. there is also severe ghosting. there is also an annoying slight mirror finish on the viewing glass. it sux outdoors under bright daylight because of that mirror finish. it's not too bad if you wear a hat. i'll do a better video review when my 5x magnifier comes in. -a|ex

i have a condor bag that is similar to the UTG. it comes in different sizes. my ps90 fits in the smaller side compartment. -a|ex

my son is into airsoft scrimmages. i sometimes try out his accessories on my sig 522 and also on my FNH PS90. he recently has an eotech clone that i just tested on my ps90 at the range a few days ago. it held it's zero just fine. i'm going to purchase an eotech XPS clone for my my sig 522 with a 5x magnifier. the problem with the green lasers are their adjustment screws cannot handle the repeated recoil on the 522. i fixed this with pouring melted candle wax into the screw adjustments. the slings/grips/grippods work fine but not all clones are built the same. i've seen cheaper grippod clones fall apart during scrimmages. i have an authentic grippod and my son's grippod clone holds out just fine. normal airsoft velocity is around 300 to 400 fps. scrimmages restrict it below 400 fps and close quarters battle is limited to 300 fps. bb weights also differ. airsoft guns get more expensive because they are being made from metal instead of plastic (internals and externals). my son is 13 at the center of pix. those magazines hold 300 bb's but empties out real quick on select fire. video of his new M4 shooting in the backyard -a|ex

i have a membership at an indoor range. with 4 kids wanting range time (2 ppl at a time) i get to go 4x a week (sometimes 2x during saturday). when the wife doesn't work that day, we get 2 lanes of fun. almost 2k rounds a week. walmart is my friend. -a|ex

hey sam, i have a sig but want to expand my collection. if you haven't yet read about the mk22, that would be something to try out. unfortunately, it's not yet released. -a|ex

$20 for factory mags is a good price. although i don't have a 15-22, i do use up 8 mags (25 rnds) and reload 4 more in an hour session at the range (sig 522). 10 mags would do fine. -a|ex

it may not affect others but the rear sling attachment pin cap worked its way loose and fell off somewhere at the range. i noticed this after i got home and during cleaning. the pin fell off with the end cap (the sling hole end) mia. i called sig support and they will be sending me a new one (they didn't mention any charge for it). gona locktite it when it arrives. -a|ex

updated... sig 556 handguard installed, GPS grip pod and coast tact light. update 5-14-2010 removed fake gas tube and inserted the green laser. fit's snug without any mounting hardware. added an ncstar 4 reticle site. the riser was removed to reduce weight. -a|ex

the kit i received didn't have any washer. i just reused the old one (black). after 1000 rounds, the e-clips do not show any stress as the previous one did. alls good... -a|ex

those work great on my sig 522 and walther p22... if the local wally world is out of federals (550 36g), super x is my next choice. the federal champions 525 40g value pack is also a good choice. i read somewhere that it's the wax on all 22lr that causes most of the dirt build up. -a|ex

update: the webstore i ordered it from had bad reviews and now i know why. nevertheless, after contacting them on the phone, i canceled the order. but i did received my cmmg .22 mags from a different webstore. it's gray and feels much more massive than the factory blackdog. i've seen them as low as $14.55 but again, that webstore also had bad reviews. mine were $20.00 (x4) from luckygunner and arrived in 3 days. i'm thinking about ordering 4 more. it's just too much fun. i also had a chance to examine the blackdog 50 round drum at a local gun show. it was very tempting but i just didn't like how it looks on a sig 522. they were selling them for $80.00 -a|ex

i used to live in FL about 3 years ago... great place to live, but their school system is horrible. i also have a sig 522 and just won an online auction on a 556 fish gill handguard ($47). pictures will be up when it arrives. also, the warranty spring clip update arrived and installed in a few minutes. gona hit the range in a few days and check to see if the rear e-clip no longer gets bent. btw, even with the bent e-clip and as long as i don't compress the spring, it still holds the spring in place. greetz... -a|ex

i use amazon for my primary purchases. but if amazon doesn't stock them, i usually check the supplier to see if they offer free shipping. optics planet usually has free shipping if you order directly from their website, some of their stuff on amazon charges shipping. i'm an amazon prime member but not all items come with free shipping. -a|ex
