You tube has some good videos that helped me do mine, it isn't difficult. Be careful when you put the screw back in that holds the cocking handle it stripped on me but I had a spare. Good luck.

Glad I could help people find the deal, I only wish I had found it before I paid $49 for mine but them is the breaks.

I just wanted to give you guys a heads up that cdnn investments has the 522 to 5 conversion kits for $19.99. I bought mine a month for $49.99. Cazio

That is a nice looking sight. I think most people were excited about the adapter because it would allow the use of any of the many buis out there, I like the yhm that I have on my ARs but I read rave reviews about the troys. I have the sig hooded front sights on both my 522 and 556 patrol rifle and really like them. Cazio

Sorry to hear that it is so flimsy >:(. It looked as if it was going to be just what so many people were looking for. Cazio

I just looked up the link an it is a dovetail to picatinny rail adapter for the sig 522 & 556. They list is made of aluminum with a steel set screw. I don't want to get in trouble by posting a picture from the website. If you want to see it just search the site with the number in the post above. Cazio

Will I need the forward pin for the handguard? Is there much mod needed just curious? I've installed part of the conversion kit to my 522 so I'm not worried about the work but would like to know. Thanks again for the link. Cazio

Imschur thanks, I did check them earlier but they just had railed ones and I really want the regular style. I'll keep searching. Thanks again Cazio

Hey guys, I'm wondering where to buy a handguard for my GSG-522? I have the SD but would like to get one of the regular carbine ones or the wide but haven't been able to locate one yet. If anyone can help please let me know where to buy. Thanks Cazio

Kilibreaux thanks for that info, I was thinking the same when I posted the question. I have always wanted an MP-5 but anyways once I got my 522 I knew I would have to convert it back to the 5 if only for the front sight which to me is critical. I have my kit already but have been to busy to do the work, I will probably take the top rail off as it really doesn't appeal to me. Thanks again for your post. Cazio

Thanks for the advice and tips. I was looking at the sig sights made specifally for the 522, they are the ones that have the peep rear sight. I was curious to know if anyone was using them. Cazio

I was wondering how you guys feel about the sig iron sights for the 522? I was thinking of ordering a set from sig since they gave me a code for 20% off accessories when I registered it online. Please let me hear your thoughts. Thanks Cazio

I just picked up a GSG-522 but have been researching them for sometime and I had some questions. What is the big advantage of converting back to the gsg-5 configuration? I understand our needs to customize but is the old config better than the new one or is it just a way to snub HK? I was thinking of doing it just because I like the original front sight and cock handle. Cazio

Hi just wanted to say hello, I found the site when looking for info on the GSG-522. I just picked the 522 up wednesday and am picking up a sig 522 later today. I had been thinking of getting one of the rifles for sometime and well really liked them both and the deals were great. Hope I can contribute to the forums. Cazio
