Hey guys! I bought a 522 about 3 weeks ago, and I have already put 2000 rounds through it. I have been cleaning it after I shoot about 500 rounds. Is that about the right time to clean it? If not, then when do I know that it needs to be clean other than the fact that there is grit everywhere. I only clean the bore when it affects my accuracy. Is this a good rule of thumb to live by?

Welcome! About 3 weeks ago I bought a Sig 522 and I must say that it is one of the most fun rifles I have EVER shot! Wait for a sale and pick one up.
