S&W M&P 15-22 35 Round Magazines
eeyore replied to imschur's topic in S&W M&P 15-22 Mods and Upgrades
I purchased 2 of these from plinker tactical directly, I have only run both mags through 1 time, loaded with Remington thunderbolt's both mags struggled loading the first round and then ran fine after that, I have reloaded them again, same issue, so at this time I am looking at them as 34 round, Do not skip the load assist. I have not tried loading anything but the thunderbolts, a different brand might have a different out come and load all 35. I also purchased two of the 32 round pro mags, have not shot them yet, but initial impression is those are looking like a good buy! -
I think a S&W mag closed yesterday on Gun Broker for 68

I have not really tried to buy any stock mags, given the stupid cost, I did purchase 2 Plinker Tactical 35rd mags, I was a little nervous about them after reading some negative reviews. They actually showed up while I was out shooting my M&P for the first time. I loaded them both up with Remington Thunderbolts, on both mags that 35th round was very hard to load, I did purchase their load assist, but still...things started tightening up around the 32-33 round count. I went back out about a week later and ran both loaded mags through 1 time, with both mags, I struggled to chamber the first round on both mags, but after that, both ran through with out a hitch, thinking I might have a couple of 34 round mags! I have yet to look at the size of the rim diameter on a variety of rounds, thinking that maybe the Remington's might have a slightly larger rim. But I would be ok with them if they work fine at 34 rounds. Before I had even bought the M&P, I was reading the writing on the wall and ordered 2 pro-mags each for my GSG and for the M&P, Hoping I would find one in all this craziness. The 2 Pro-Mags For the M&P have been released from back order and are on their way. I will give the Plinker and Pro-Mags a run through again and report on how they do!

I would guess its going to get worse, the Anti-gun folks have a strong foot hold, a president with nothing to lose and a desire to fundamentally change this country, Along with a segment of our community who the anti-gun people and the media are now and will continue to use as the poster child's to represent who and what the gun culture/community is all about. I hope I am wrong

thats what I hear! guess I might have to give in and just order the stuff through gunbroker, I had sent xpress guns a e-mail explaing what I was looking and what I felt the miscomunacaions intailed, asked for a invoice for either the pieces I wanted or the whole kit, what ever worked with his sales policy ,,,,but never recieved it. On a completly Diffrent note! Just got a e-mail from Midway letting me know that a couple of 32rd Pro-mag magazines i had on back order were coming available!!! Dang I have got to stop buying gun toys or the wife is going to spank me and take my birthday away!

cool! glad you were able to get some plinking in! I only have about 150 rounds through mine, few failure to ejects, had one faliure to fire, that was with out a doubt the round, but so far I have not put any thing in it other then some cheap old ammo I had laying around...been stocking up on some better stuff!! Enjoy the warm spell and your time at the capital!

lol...just keep stocking...shoot a little buy a little... that was the first brick I have seen in a store since x-mass, and the one I got while x-mass shopping was only because the guy who cleaned out every thing on the shelf just before I was reaching for one was generous enough to hand one over lol! Since X-mas, Have been in at least three different Wal Marts, Multiple times, at least 4 different sporting good stores, again a few of those, multiple times and the two local gun shops near by, multiple times. One box of 375 cci mini mags, and the brick of Remington's, both from the local stores ( 1 each) and the guy I got the Remington's from only allows the purchase of one brick/bulk pack at a time Spoke to a clerk at a Wal Mart last Sunday, he stated, stocking orders come in in the middle of the night, 22lr are gone with in a hour of the pallet hitting the floor.

I can understand he is stressed....but it was strange, I was standing there, card in hand, when I called. 5 e-mails later, 3 by me, two from him...no invoice, never took my order, was not interested in explaining/clarifying what I was getting if I bought his kit as opposed to doing the multiple auctions on gun broker, If at any point he would have just said, this is option A, and this is option B...I would have picked one, paid him for it and not have wasted any more of each others time, and been perfectly happy! any way, how do you like the RAS? I am not really wanting the rail, I think I would be just as happy, if not more with the scope mount, I just am not happy with the wobbly original fore grip and stock and it is my understanding the RAS makes the fore grip area very solid. I just also dislike that hollow sound of the plastic stock, it seems to take what seems like a very good shooting gun and makes it feel cheap. I have given thought to making something that either welds or clamps to the barrel cover that would allow a couple of screws to be used through the fore grip, but if I can and accomplish this by using the RAS, saves a bunch of time and work! So, I have been waffling back and forth about just placing a order through gun broker or just simply doing the fore grip mods myself, the ability to put optics on it is not really that big of deal, I have the S&W M&P 15-22 also, (along with a few other 22's) so leaving the GSG open sights gives it that classic look!

Did it on gunbroker, seller is Botach Tactical, they were 39.99 each with free shipping. Was going to order through xpress guns, I wanted to get the folding stock and the RAS forgrip and rail, but he got strange and nasty when I asked a few qustions.

paid $49.95 ($54 and change after tax) for a 500 brick of remington vipers

Ordered 5, 25 round factory mags for my GSG AK 22. Wanted to order a folding stock and a RAS fore-grip/rail, but the vendor of those has been less then helpful...

Page right out of Mein Kampf, I got to admit..this guy is good, he tells us what he's up to, he uses well known and documented techniques...and the masses follow.. Today I fear for my country more then I ever have

I went to three stores looking for 22lr this afternoon, none.. Scanned midway last night...almost every brand sold out

Way cool! at a local shop here they had a Air Soft dipped in Stars & Stripes

It was a little cold, the location did not allow the ability to stretch it out a little, but after so many years away from this "Sport" is was nice to start getting reacquainted with it and my new firearm collection. I really was interested in shooting again as a stress free enjoyable hobby, but the political climate that is now swirling around has made my reentry in to the shooting world, gun/culture, almost a act of defiance rather then a enjoyable hobby...

Today, in a mass shooting, 6 aluminum cans, 5 soda and 1 beer, succumbed to a battery of gun fire. The shooter dressed in a dirty oily shop jacket, armed with a variety of weapons that appeared to be of a Assault Weapon nature, showed mediocre marksmanship as he relentlessly assaulted the innocent beverage containers, reloading and switching between the various firearms till all beverage containers had fallen victim to yet another incident of overkill. In the last few months, I have acquired a variety of Firearms, amongst the collection are 5 different 22's. having not fired a gun in about 14-15 years, the urge just became to strong so I took three out today for a little test drive! My New GSG AK-47, My New S&W M&P 15 22 and a slightly used Sig Sauer Mosquito If my notes are correct, fired 295 rounds, 126 through the S&W, 106 through the GSG and 63 through the Sig. It is my hope to start to put together a data base on all my firearms and type of ammunition fired in them! Lucky for them cans, I didn't know my new 35 round Plinker Tactical 35 round Magazines had come while I was out....or I would have had to test those out also! (hoping I am one of the lucky ones and the mags run in my S&W)

Hi, I purchased a GSG AK a few weeks ago, have not fired it yet, hope to break it down, clean it up, lock tight that safety screw, was hoping to go out this weekend...but looks like the weather is not going to agree! Any way...I was wondering if any body who owns one of these has done anything to address the sloppy/loose fit of the fore grip and stock? How about the ATI fore grip and/or the R.A.S. system? are they more ridged? Same question with the folding stock, is it any better? I have looked at these issues a little, on the original stock, looks like a third (a second screw on top) screw could be added. On the fore grip, I have been thinking about either machining some clamps or welding some tabs to the barrel cover that would allow a couple of screws to be placed through the fore grip... Any body have any other thoughts or info? Also, I purchased it from a store that only sells compliant models, Can the mag be modified to full capacity? It does look like on the limiter, it has serrations where it can be cut off and it would have a 16 round capacity. But I am also wondering if the limiter could be cut down further, looks like the spring is much longer then what would be required for 10 rounds. Once I decide to pony up for a couple of full capacity mags, then I might be more inclined to play around with the 10 round mag and see what happens! Thanks!
