Michigan Joe
Hello. I have a compact 45 1911 that I got about ten years ago and never fired. I believe it is a Llama from Spain. Solid gun. Got a bunch of Argentine .45 ammo for it, (1953 vintage), but just never took it out back to shoot it. OK, what do you guys think. Should I get a Kimber or Wilson 22 conversion for the Llama or go with the 1911 that Ati is importing?Basically, would a relatively inexpensive 45 with a good conversion kit be better than a relatively inexpensive dedicated 1911 .22? Once you have a hood conversion kit would you want one if those other guns?
Microgunner
Does Wilson or Kimber make a conversion for the Llama? Because I always thought the slide was not interchangeable with true 1911s.
Michigan Joe
After some research, it appears that the Llama MiniMax, is not an true 1911 clone. I doubt that it would accept a conversion unit. So, that's that.
imschur
I chose to really go after the Colt Ace 1911 model. I have the Wilson kit which is manufactured by Marvel Precision. Im just looking for a suitable frame at the moment. Of course the ATI would be a more cost effective path.
