I've only used it twice.It works well for close in 30-50 yds as well as 100 yd shots.I haven tried it further than that. The reason I bought it was for the extra magnification at longer ranges (meaning 100-200 yds).It has an etched glass reticle and if the battery dies during the day you can still use it.It's deffinately tough but it is heavy. My M&P 15x weights 8.6 lbs with the scope. So it's a little heavy. Especially when you compare it to my Strikefire and 15-22 at 6.4lbs.Hope this helps!BTW I got it from Opticsplanet for $799.
