Darkstar
ok, today i removed my magazine safety from my GSG 1911. it functions the same but now the hammer won't catch if I physically pull it back. If I pull the slide back it will lock but not the other way around. So is this normal? is this the same on the .45 cal version? I haven't fired it yet but I,m a little concerned. Any feedback would be appreciated. ???
imschur
is that how it functioned with the safety in place and no magazine inserted?
ImatushiMaru
I removed the magazine safety on my GSG 1911, and it goes to half cock and full cock when I pull back on the hammer. I would probably try to re-install the main spring housing, something doesn't sound right.
Darkstar
well I tried reinstalling the magazine safety lever and it made no difference, but after disassembling it and reassembling it again it seems to catch more often. so it is something internal. And I don't know the inner workings of a 1911 so I am thinking that one of the leaf springs is missing it's catch. What do you think? Darkstar
OK, Fixed it.The sear spring wasn't in the correct place. so the hammer wasn't catching.
