Mounting BSA contender

I'm new to the forums and read through quite a lot of the forums, however after I read and researched which rifle and scope to purchase I can't seem to find good information on a good quality set of rings to mount a bsa contender 4-16x40 to sit sauer 522. Apologize if this has been covered before but I couldn't find it. Also will a rail be advised or should a particular set of rings do just fine.

I've got a Mueller APV mounted on mine, and I used Burris "Xtreme Tactical" high rings (part 420182). It didn't look like anything shorter would provide enough clearance.

I ended up finding a like new Burris pepr mount... I'm really inexperienced with scopes and rails so hopefully the contender will be compatible with it. Either way I will find a use for it.
