asmurff Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Have you all seen this article. Remington says it will leave New York if the micro-stamping bill in the NY legislature is passed.http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/remington-arms-company-threatens-pull-plant-york-response-bloomy-backed-gun-bill-article-1.1050781Having lived in the next town over from Ilion, NY Remington leaving would cause it to become a ghost town. Remington has been there so long it is a part of the entire community.I wonder what amount of taxes Remington pays to the state of NY.
imschur Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 I dont think these states care. Maybe Bloomberg will cut a big check to all the individuals involved. He certainly has the money.Keep in mind Remington is part of the Freedom Group and they have been pulling most of their brands production to NY. NY should embrace the growth thats shuttering other towns in states by the moves.Look what happened here in CT. We were home to almost every domestic gun manufacturer and most are gone. Shit Colt remains yet can sell a "Sporter" in this state. Colt is opening a small facility in Florida but they state they have no plan to move. Yeah right.
