cmscoltm4 Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 Hay guys I have a newer colt m4 carbine and was wondering if anyone else has lose take down pins? I can push my out with my finger and there is play between the upper and lower. The gun only has 1000 rounds threw it and has been cleaned twice .
wobblinwheel Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 Is your flash-suppressor tight? Make sure it is. Make sure your pistol grip is tight too. Long allen wrench that came with the rifle I think fits the grip bolt.
cmscoltm4 Posted September 11, 2012 Author Report Posted September 11, 2012 Thanks wobblinwheel I checked the bolt that holds the grip on and it was a tad lose . I also tightend the muzzle brake just a tad bit more and seems pretty good now.
mcheath Posted September 14, 2012 Report Posted September 14, 2012 Mine tends to loosen up after a lot of firing and then I can push the pins out as well. Tightening fixes it.
cmscoltm4 Posted September 14, 2012 Author Report Posted September 14, 2012 mcheath does your gun have any play between the upper and lower at all .
mcheath Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 No, none at all. There is a slight gap at the back of the receivers where the upper meets the lower, but no wiggle or movement.
