I never tried a sling on mine, as I usually bench shoot. An AR sling plate is too big for the Colt, the ID is way too large. Which I am sure you already found out. I can't be sure, but THIS might work. Email them to ask, they might need the Colt's tube diameter.

Let us know!

This generic AR 15/16 receiver end plate fit right on my Walther Colt C 4 22 cal.......Took 15 minutes to install it.......Fit tight too and my NcStar bungee thumb clip single point sling just snaps right on.

Well that is cool, you must have one of the newer Colts, I see it has the 90 degree safety. If you get the chance, could you measure the diameter of the buffer tube at the threads? I want to compare it to mine, wondering if they changed the diameter.

Thanks!

Well, I am confused.

My Colt M4's OD is 1.129" (28.7mm) measured across the threaded part of the tube.

My AR's OD is: 1.162" (29.5mm) measured across the threaded part of the tube.

I have several AR sling plates and they all measure ID = 1.18" (30mm)

The sling plates that I have are too big for my Colt, they won't stay locked to the notch in the tube.

Glad to hear you found one that works Dan - do you remember where you got it?

I made one of the oversized ones work on mine by installing it over the existing plate. Just slid it up in the notch, and snugged the nut. Works fine. I have found it to be a more convenient sling location, single or two point use.
