Elk Doe

It was nice enough today for me to go to the range. Our gun club is out about 12 miles from civilization in cattle country on dirt roads. On the way back, by one of the watering holes there were a group of cattle, so I slowed down in case any of them should bolt across the road. Also drinking from the watering hole was a elk doe. By the time I stop and hopped out to take her picture (with my phone) she had hi-tailed it into a draw. RATS, I'd have loved to have her picture. I knew there were elk out on the cattle land and the owner allows no hunting, to many steers shot over the years.
