BulletCushion Posted June 8, 2013 Report Posted June 8, 2013 Ok so my project to mod an AICS airsoft to accept my XT-22 barrel and receiver has stalled while I engineer a good way to engage the mag release. So in the mean time I've been playing around with Krylon camo paint and painted the OEM stock on the XT-22. I masked off the textured areas on the grip and foregrip, painted with the Krylon "Deep Forest Green", then removed the masking and coated the whole stock with clear rubberized coating.I gotta say I like how it turned out. ;DI'm gonna keep it put away for at least a couple more weeks to make sure the coatings have a chance to cure, then I'm gonna give it some torture testing with duct tape to see if the coating adheres to the paint after duct tape is ripped off, then maybe some gun cleaner to see if it will stand up to that.If it passes those tests then I'll probably leave it as is, if not I have 4 colors of Alumahyde2 coming to play with.
