techmike Posted January 15, 2015 Report Posted January 15, 2015 I have an option to get a Beretta 84fs - .380 - anyone had one?
Microgunner Posted January 15, 2015 Report Posted January 15, 2015 I had oneIt was a great pistol.Two problems, very large for a 380 by today's standards and it's a blowback.Even Beretta's tiny new 380 is a locked breech.Blowback =ammo sensitivity.
techmike Posted January 15, 2015 Author Report Posted January 15, 2015 Thanks MG. :thumb: I think I shall snatch it up.....
techmike Posted January 16, 2015 Author Report Posted January 16, 2015 Looks like I will get it next Tuesday, it is one that was made in Italy, guess they can no longer be imported. Looking forward to a double digit capacity .380.
Microgunner Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 I think they're all made in Italy and import ceased due to poor sales in the US where micro .380s have become the rage.Which is why Beretta is now producing, in the US, the new Pico micro.380.
techmike Posted January 18, 2015 Author Report Posted January 18, 2015 Thanks MG. I was under the impression that ATF had (some time ago) curtailed importation of most smaller pistols - which was why the foreign manufacturers had built plants in the US as a way around the importation ban.
Microgunner Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 That was the GCA of 1968. Handguns imported after 1968 met the minimum import standards.
