Welcome sir! I'm from Maine originally, born and raised in Aroostook County. I lived and worked in Old Town for five years before moving to Houston. Glad to see another Maineiac on the board!
So a friend sent me a text a few minutes ago saying her catalytic converter had been cut off her car in a parking lot while she was in a store. Wtf!! I hadn't heard of this before, so I looked it up and found it to be a fairly common thing. Unreal. I hate thieves.
It will take some strong-arming, but it should come loose. It's best to have the upper in a proper vice block or action block though, before muscling it off there.
Hey ninja, sorry, just now seeing this post. I don't mind at all, I have three of the 512's that I keep on hand to swap around on my close range weapons. I shoot this rifle more than most others, so the way I look at it, I'm getting more use from the 512 on this application that I would on one of my 5.56 rifles.
Getting the URL out and broadcast is one way, I do it whenever I can. At our martial arts school we rely on friend references for most of our new recruits.
Well, to test this out I pulled out my 416 and found that the flash hider spins off easily with the supplied wrench. However, the threads are way smaller than 1/2x28. Do you have an adapter?
I've got an SWR Spectre that I use on my Sig 522 a bunch, and would like to on my 416 too. As I understand it, taking the flash hider off is part of the tear down procedure, so I would think you could screw the suppressor on in its place. I just haven't tried yet.
