I knew it! There ain't NOTHIN' (except women) you can't fix with zip ties and/or duct tape!
-
Can a small nylon wire (zip) tie be used? I use them for everything. I even used them and a leather punch to hold the sleeves on my old Harley motorcycle jacket when the thread went south.

When I referred to "our own ranks", I meant anyone other than the "government" itself. Gun/ammo dealers, manufacturers and consumers. The consumers for going into "panic-mode" on a GRAND scale, and the manufacturers/dealers, gun shows, etc. for capitalizing on this terrible situation, again on a GRAND SCALE. Free enterprise at work? Or GREED?
-
It seems we could easily blame those in our own ranks for this problem. The government hasn't had to legislate ANYTHING, we have done it to ourselves!! No guns, no ammo, no magazines, just greed, panic, and GOUGING! Who is our REAL enemy??
-
I just went on Cheaper than Dirt to see their .22 ammo prices and availability. all I can say is..........HOLY CRAP!!!!

When was Christmas? Is it over already??

Hey guys. Found in a friend's (used to be) house, while moving out some stuff, a "Saiga" 12 ga. 11 round magazine with 11 shells in it. Is it worth anything to anybody? Any idea what it's worth?
-
Umarex has the 30 rounder for $42.00!! I think I may have to get one anyway, since very soon they may become ILLEGAL! Especially since these magazines have gone out and killed so many people..........
-
Just got an email from Umarex. They don't have them either.
-
Guess I'll "bite the bullet" and get one from Umarex. At this point, scared not to! Sorry about the non-P.C. post. I have a bad habit of saying what I mean, and meaning what I say!
-
I don't really need one, but I thought it was nice that they were including one. Sometimes I wish I had waited before I bought my rifle two years ago. Who knew? Hindsight really is 20/20.
-
I was thinking about getting 2 more 20 round magazines from CTD, as they've always had them for about $25. Well guess what? they don't have any magazines for the Colt, nor hardly any accessories from Umarex/Colt (like they USED too). What gives? I've checked other online outfits with no luck, either. Umarex has them for $36.00, plus freight, I'd prefer not.

I just saw on Utube, a British dude is unboxing a brand new colt/Umarex M4 Ops rifle, and a new accessory is included. A half-inch thread adapter for the barrel so you attach a standard suppressor or flash suppressor! How 'bout them apples??

I didn't watch the video, but on mine I simply worked on the "notch" on the hammer itself. Using fine triangular stones (brown), I carefully cut down the width of the "shelf" of the catch to reduce, or eliminate the travel, or "creep" in the trigger. Then, using same stone, I reduced the ANGLE of the notch on the hammer. This reduces the "pull'. The way this trigger is made, the sear has to pull "uphill" in the notch in order to release. I did not modify any springs, as this is a sure fire way to create full-auto! Please note, these mods are done A LITTLE AT A TIME, then TESTED each time, to make sure it feels right. If you go too far, you're SCREWED! I have done this many times, on many guns with excellent results. My trigger went from over 9lbs to around 4.5. Unfortunately, if you've never done this before, I can't in good conscience, recommend you try it.

How do you suppress a .223?? If the bullet travels faster than the speed of sound, you still get one hell of a CRACK!!
-
You should call Umarex and tell them about it. They may send you a new mag-release. It's easy to fix yourself, with a little filing on the catch, but I would try to get them to supply a new one first. Does a good "smack" on the bottom of the mag make it catch? If it does, keep smacking. Sometimes they "break in". Mine did. It actually got looser over time. I agree to try a new mag, if that's possible. I've got three, and each one fits just a little different from the others.

My buddy gave me a Magpul "MOE" stock that came off his brand new Colt AR (.556, not .22), and it fit perfectly with no slop. The "Special Force Crane Stock" from Umarex was loose as shit, but I found a way to make it snug without shimming anything. The Crane stock is much more comfortable to shoot with because of it's cheek rest, but the MOE is lighter and "trimmer". The Colt/Umarex quad rail comes with an adapter barrel nut that would appear to work with other threaded rails. The one off my brother's DPMS fit on it. I also installed the Magpul "enhanced trigger guard" on mine with very little modification.

You might want to look into (pun) getting a flip-up rear sight. Colt/Umarex has one that folds down real low, and works real good. It's the same sight Colt uses on the SPR. CTD has it cheaper than dirt. Well. maybe not that cheap, but cheaper than Umarex!

I'm gettin' thirsty.....
-
I would say something, but I'm trying to eat a pack of something that was in the box my rifle scope came in..........looks like "Pop Rocks"?
-
Now, was that some useless info, or WHAT?

A few years ago, I decided to put a green "tactical?" laser on my Colt M4 carbine. Aside from it being on sale, I think I initially bought it for it's "cool factor" more than anything else. I mounted it using a 45 degree mount on my top rail to keep it out of the way. After sighting it dead-on to my 25yd. target in my yard (squirrel range, average), I had some fun knocking out the "glint" in their eyes every now and then. After the novelty wore off, I found I didn't use it much anymore. Well now that's not the case. Every so often, I like to "change-up" from "sniper mode" (squirrels out the window) to "combat mode" (general plinking and such). In combat mode, I remove my quick-release scope, and clamp on my Walther PS22 red-dot, remove the bipod, and go to shooting "cans", using red dot and sometimes flip-up backup sights. Well to make a long story worse, I have found the green laser is an excellent tool to ensure your different sighting methods are on target when swapping optics! Although so far I usually don't have to make any changes to any adjustments, it's nice to verify that the crosshairs and red-dot line-up after switching optics, almost like a built-n boresighter with benefits!

Seems ever since Colt/Umarex worked the bugs out of their newer rifles, we ain't got a lot to talk about! Somebody needs to come out with a new rifle that doesn't work!
