new mp 15-22 and 1st time at the range
21rides2rule replied to caspero's topic in S&W M&P 15-22 General
glad you like the rifle, it is one of the best 22s ive bought... love how it handles and for me it has been flawless and ive put at least 3k plus rounds though mine... -
^^^ yes and i dont think anyone is saying the 22lr is better or more powerful than the bigger calibers but rather just how lethal the 22lr is compared to everyones opinion that the 22lr is a "joke" or a "toy round" i have a decent amount of big calibers handguns and rifles but prob the most fun i have is with the 22s... it allows you to really work on basics, marksmanship, trigger control, etc etc and you can practice all day for pennies and almost no one minds where you shooting a 22 anywhere

looks like we have a couple texans in here glad to meet ya'll

Howdy, I found this site a week or so ago and have been searching though old threads every since trying to glean info... I am very much into a little bit of everything when it comes to shooting, although I have to say that 22lr has become my favorite over the past several years, its cheap to shoot almost no one minds plinking whether its at a range or the ranch, its pretty quite. I have a decent sized arsenal but of course always looking to expand that lol glad to be here!

this is an awesome thread the 22lr is prob my favorite round for sheer enjoyment shooting, cost, noise(get a sub sonic in a rifle you dont even need ear protection) i know that generally yes bigger is better and more likely to put someone down quicker, but i do not understand why everyone treats the 22lr as a joke... it is still a powder fired projectile that with some of these new loads that will def make a decent hole with a good wound channel... i was working the ER (i am a paramedic student) a couple weeks ago and had two victims of a gang shooting that had been shot with a 9mm come in, one vic had been shot in the left side of his neck narrowly missing his arteries and trachea it stayed lodged right in front of his vertebrea, second victim had been shot in the left upper chest bullet had gone straight though him. he stated "it felt like a cell phone buzzing" when he got hit neither one of them was in very much pain neither one had been knocked down and both had been driven in by friends. can't say about the 22lr yet havent seen anyone shoot with that yet, but ill bet it would have done just as much damage...

are they pricing it around the same as other ammo or will they upcharge for "specialty" ammo i wonder? sounds good though, but so far cci is workin well for me

not sure he just listed off 357, 40 and 45, he may have just listed off the big boys, idk?... well just ran 200 rounds though the mosquito and she is a dream!!! only had 1 round fail to load, i am thinking more of a mag prob on that one than the gun itself... 100 rounds were with cci mini mag and the other 100 were cci standard velocity (basicly sub-sonic) windageis def off to the left though and she seems to shoot pretty low so ill need to play with that... but i really do have to say i was really worried about how well it would shoot after reading countless reviews online and talking to people it always came back a mixed bag half love it half hate it... 199 rounds to 1 failure to load is pretty good and at least 50 rounds ended up being very rapid double taps, and one mag i loaded with a mix of mini mag and standard velocity (both cci) and let it rip as fast as possible not a single hiccup... A++++ for sure!!! now to get some more mags

just got a mosquito yesterday now to get it to the range and see how she shoots... oh and i found out one thing that suprised me the salesman said that sig has a sale on now, if you buy a p220 you send them a copy of the receipt and some money and they will send you your choice of a 357 sig, 40 or 45 cal upper... maybe you guys knew it but i was unaware that the lower of the p220 was interchangable with "full" size uppers...

21rides2rule replied to 21rides2rule's topic in Ruger 10-22 Mods and Upgrades
Never mind I got it, just did some more dremeling to the heart shaped area went from i had it perfectly flat to dremeling it up almost into a slight curve... works great now to so much easier to work now compared to stock... -
Ok does anyone here know how to do the auto decocking mod on the 10/22? I have already tried it but I dont think I ground it down correctly as it still locks open and has to be reeased by the slide release... as far as I have heard you grind out the heart shape which I did with no results yet... any help or pics would be awesome! Thanks here is a link http://www.alpharubicon.com/leo/fixermod.htm
