  1. I read that the MinMax .45 can use normal 1911 magazines, even though they would be a little longer than the one built for the gun. Is that true?
  2. Does anyone know if Marlin still going to continue to produce the same products for a while?
  3. What do you think about the M57 or cz-82?
  4. I was going to clean it up and fire it this weekend, believe it or not. I have a case of 1953 Argentine ammo that I figure it is time I should start shooting up. Why do you want a Mini Max?
  5. I have a new in the box mini max .45 cal. As you look around, please let me know what they are going for.
  6. I believe Expert's up to 38 out of 40. Less recoil and straight stock maybe? I was reading through the M-14 manual and saw the part on "spot weld." I need a high stock, so all of the force of the recoil was concentrated on my thumb into my cheek. Used to hurt and bleed. They don't do that anymore, which is good.
  7. My wife just loved Techmike's photo.
  8. I borrowed the CD version from the local library and listened to it during my commute to and from work.
  9. It's about guns and shooting, and of course, alien invasions. Basically, the story line is about what happens when aliens invade the Earth and meet up with a bunch of gun nuts similar to us on this website. The star of the show is the 50 cal. sniper rifle. You guys would like it. The author goes into great detail about the characteristics of the weapons and ammo ballistics.
  10. Of course, the Army still uses the M-14 when they need a "real" rifle in Afghanistan. https://rdl.train.army.mil/soldierPortal/atia/adlsc/view/public/23366-1/ST/FM23-8/FM23_8.PDF Expert Marksmanship badge was earned by 27 or more hits out of 32. Now it is 36 out of 40, I think.

  12. http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/MILITARY/united_states_army_fm_3-23x35%20-%2025_june_2003.pdf The above is the link to the pdf file for the Army's field training manual on how to train for pistol shooting.
  13. I'm going to have to study these things. So, they don't make the H&R 32 anymore in the K frame. Just the 38 special and .22 (according to S&W's website). Still love the grips.
  14. Now, that H&R looks cool. Love the grips.
  15. I had trouble grouping my shots from my new ISSC M22 pistol. Some of you guys suggested that I dry fire the gun so I would not be pulling it all over the target. I had dry fired my skeet gun a lot back in the olden days, so I left the M22 out on the kitchen counter and every time I walk by it, I pick it up and dry fire off five or six shots. I don't know if it will improve my target shooting, but if I ever get attacked by an electric outlet, it's dead.
  16. Yup, S&W 617. Just coming back to change it. I would have wondered why they were out of stock.
  17. In the Brownells catalog, they have nice walnut wood stock and pistol grips for AR-15's. Check them out.
  18. Go Sooners!
  19. 98% sure that a Sig 617 10 rounder revolver is in my future. Pricey, but appears worth it. Anybody got one?
  20. The military sights make it a bargain.
  21. It looks real nice. Why not an authentic wood stock?
  22. Yes, that is practically all I use (an iPhone). The only problem I have is that photos are sometimes not fully displayed.
  23. I got the green model. I really like the green. Looks different. The first green rifle I saw was an AUG about 20 years ago and liked it. They tend to sell the green 552's for less. They must not be popular. It's not like they are pink with purple poka dots or anything. They're just green. Cleaned mine the other day. Really easy. When I shot it, it was like firing one of those video game arcade guns. Really smooth as silk. I don't think the gun knows how to jam if you keep it clean. Just used CCI Blazer ammo.
  24. When I was looking for a left handed rifle, the Savage MkII and CZ seemed to be the best choices for bolt actions. The CZ had nicer wood and was at least twice the $200-220 price of the Savage. (The standard model). I still want the Savage to practice left hand shooting. I saw a right handed model at Gander Mountain and concluded that it was a pretty nice rifle. Those rails probably make it nice and heavy.
