  1. Thanks for the props. Its my first paintjob on a firearm so I did a test paintjob with rattlecan paint on the factory stock and foregrip from my GSG522 so I could get an idea of what kinda spacing to use between the templates.
  2. I don't believe so but they are the same as the Sig 1911
  3. Only finished spraying the rifle yesterday but during the reassembly i did drop the magazine and didn't leave any marks. This stuff is pretty tough already and they say it will continue to get tougher over the next 4-6 weeks. I'm gonna shelf the gun for about a month before I take it to the range to try it out. (haven't had a chance to fire it yet) I would highly recommend using a respirator while spraying duracoat. I forgot to put mine on while doing the gray color any had a terrible headache all night so it couldn't have been good 4 me. I will probably use duracoat again on another project I'm looking to start building.
  4. Alright folks, here it is, as promised. I have finished the Duracoat Urban MirageFlage camo on my new Archangel Marauder. I spent the last couple days masking, painting and remasking so I hope you all like what you see. I think it turned out pretty decent. The stencil pattern I got with the kit looks good but had trouble getting the pieces to stick down around all the rounded corners so a few spots the paint lines aren't as sharp as they should be. Also the stencil kit should have come with about half again as many stencil strips cuz I had to make a few of my own to finish the job. They say the stencils are reusable but not in this instance. Are completely trashed. If anyone else buys one of the kits to do a tactical rifle, do yourself a favor and buy an extra set of stencils. I bought the stencils and duracoat separately from Midway. The stencils were $16.99 and the duracoat kit was $34.99 plus $7.49 for some reducer. IBefore I began the Duracoat project I commented on how the magazine was kinda tight within the Marauder stock, well the Marauder comes with a special magazine and sleave. The magazine is just slightly too wide and rubs on the inside of the mag well. I'm gonna try to sand down the magazine sides with some fine grit wet/dry sandpaper to clearance the magazine better. If I do it right I should be able to operate the mag release and have the magazine drop out on its own. I just gotta be carefull not to remove too much material so it isn't flopping around. Well tell me what you think...
  5. Send 'em to Spokane please ;D ;D
  6. the Archangel Marauder stock kit comes with an extended mag release and bolt catch that must be installed into the ruger trigger group. The parts are pretty easy to install as long as you are carefull to install them in the same orientaion as the original parts.
  7. The mag release on mine is a bit tight. The internal clearance between the mag sleave and the receiver is a little tight so it doesn't drop out under its own weight when the mag release is operated. It also is a little tight when loading the mag as well. I will be tearing it down soon to do a camo duracoat paintjob and will look into what is causing the resistance. It isn't so bad as to be a hinderance but when trying to reload mags quickly it would slow you down considerably. I wonder if the alingment of the barrel and action of the 10-22 within the archangel kit might be causing the extra friction. The ruger parts fit very tightly within the marauder stock and may need to be shifted slightly to align the magwell better.
  8. Received my new Marauder stock today. Got it all setup and installed in a bit over an hour. Looks great but I think I'm gonna do a digital camo paint job on it. I'm thinking maybe white, grey and black. I found some interesting ideas on youtube for doin camo paintjobs an I'm itchin to give it a try. I might do a test on the original stock and foregrip for my GSG522 first to see if I like the outcome. :thumb: Here are some pics of my 10-22 before and after the Marauder stock.
  9. I don't care who you are... Thats funny!
  10. They love the COCK. Bong!!
  11. Got my 15-22 back from the factory today after extractor repair. No notes or explanation of the work done. Also didn't get 2 free mags that other posts I've seen claim to have gotten. They did replace the hammer spring which I had switched out for one I purchased from Brownells. They were nice enough to return my spring to me so I got a spare spring outa the deal. I didnt look at the original extractor that closely before it went bye bye, but i think the new extractor is a bit different. Anyone else notice the difference? Maybe I'm wrong.
  12. Just ordered the Archangel Marauder stock for the Ruger 10-22. I love the look of the HK g36. Anyone else here used this setup? What do you think of it? Found the stock at www.ineedmoregear.com http://ineedmoregear.com/promag-stock-black-marauder-10-22-aam1022 They also have the magazines with the Marauder sleeve as well. http://ineedmoregear.com/promag-mag-archangel-22lr-25rd-black-marauder-sleeve-marauder-stock-aa922-a1 Now I gotta just try to be patient.
  13. Got 2 from Aimsurplus.com paid 29.95 each. They are sellin for 44.95 at local shops. (if you can find em)
  14. I was browsing the redjacket website and found this new product for the Ruger 10-22. They are scheduled to ship fall of 2012. Check em out. http://www.redjacketfirearms.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=67&category_id=11&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=19
  15. The only thing holding the spring in place is the breach body. Here is a pic of mine. I dont notice any unusual rattle. There is a slight rattle but not so much as to indicate a problem. With yours does it rattle alot? Is it fully assembled w/ magazine? That little metal plate the spring is pushing is part of the mag safety I believe and with the mag not istalled it may rattle a bit more.
  16. The same thing happened to me on my 1st teardown. I found the spring wedged up between the receiver and the breach so the bolt wouldnt close to battery. Had to use a bore loght to see it in there. Nothin special to reinstall the spring. With the breach body removed, looking into the ejection port you will see a vertical opening in the opposing side of the receiver. The spring installs into this channel and presses the metal plate down. If the spring is not in there that may be your rattle. Hope this is helpfull, I'm working from memory here. If not I'll try givin my 522 a teardown and takee some pics. Good luck
  17. I purchased 2 from aimsurplus.com and should be delivered on tuesday. >:D
  18. Ok went to the range today and put about 100 rounds through my new skeeter. Range report is all good. I tried 5 different ammo types: Federal American Eagle, Federal Auto Match, CCI Mini Mag, CCI Stinger, and CCI AR Tactical. All of which performed very well. Had best groupings with Mini Mags and 2 FTF's with the Federal Auto Match ( I think). I was also breaking in a GSG1911 that I picked up on friday. The GSG liked the American Eagle best but the groupings were better with the skeeter. I wasn't being very scientific about my testing with the different ammo types but in the 100 or so rounds that I put through each pistol, I gotta say the Sig Mosquito out performed the GSG 1911.
  19. I just picked up my gsg1911 on friday and took it to the range today to pop its cherry. I tried 5 different types of ammo: Federal Auto Match, Federal American Eagle, CCI Mini Mag, CCI Stinger, and CCI AR Tactical. All of which performed very well. I actually had the best groupings with the American Eagle ammo which is contrary to my experience with this ammo in my rifles (GSG522 and M&P15-22) which both work best with the CCI AR Tactical. I also just purchased the Sig Mosquito which liked the American Eagle but worked best with the Mini Mag. Just my 2 cents :thumb:
  20. I've been thinking about picking up one of these rifles for a couple months but my research into the spare Mags and their prices have made me think twice. Did you ever get any extra mags and if so where and how much? The best price I've seen online sofar is about $60 a pop. Kinda spendy compared to $20 - $25 for my other rifles (GSG522 and M&P 15-22)
  21. ;D Just picked up my skeeter today and gave it a good tear down and cleaning. Anyone find any nice lookin laser sights that fit the skeeter.
  22. Should I be this aroused?
  23. Here is a link to them at aimsurplus.com for $29.95 http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=MSigMosquito&name=Factory+Sig+Sauer+Mosquito+10rd+.22lr+Magazine&groupid=16
  24. Just paid for the two tone black and purple Sig Mosquito. Now I gotta patiently wait the required 7 days to pick it up. C:-) Felt like a well made gun and it fit well in my hand. Looking forward to taking it to the range.
  25. I never noticed at which moment the extracter jumped ship. Didnt notice any OOBD. Took it to the range along with my brand new GSG522. Put a few hundred rounds through the new gun and decided to give the 15-22 a bit of range time and right out of the gate it was FTE almost every round so I gave up and went home. When I got home and started to clean my toys I noticed the extractor was missing.
