  6. I bought one last year and enjoy it much. I actually own both the 10-22 and the S&W 15-22 and love them both. The 10-22 has ALOT more options for customizing and has been trouble free so far. My 15-22 has only had 1 issue so far when the extractor decided to disappear during a visit to the range but was quickly (relatively) replaced by S&W. I have installed the Archangel Maurader stock on my 10-22 and had some issues with the magazines that are for that stock, however the factory 10 & 25 round mags have performed flawlessly. I eventually will pickup another 10-22 that I plan to do a different build on. So to answer your question more directly, yes a 10-22 is worth it.
  7. I bought a few yards of the mesh material from a local fabric store. I used some Elmers spray adhesive on the mesh, let it dry for about 5 minutes then pressed it onto and around the stock. The Elmers adhesive works like contact cement but when only sprayed on one surface and allowed to dry a bit first works as a temporary adhesive and leaves little or no residue. Then just a few very light coats of paint to leave the pattern.
  8. Playin around with Krylon camo paint and tried out a camo pattern I saw on the web (4th pic). It didn't turn out as well as I had hoped cuz I need more practice with an airbrush, outlines shoulda been much narrower and not enough space between the hex patches. Probably gonna sand it down and try again.

    XT-22

Ok so my project to mod an AICS airsoft to accept my XT-22 barrel and receiver has stalled while I engineer a good way to engage the mag release. So in the mean time I've been playing around with Krylon camo paint and painted the OEM stock on the XT-22. I masked off the textured areas on the grip and foregrip, painted with the Krylon "Deep Forest Green", then removed the masking and coated the whole stock with clear rubberized coating. I gotta say I like how it turned out. ;D I'm gonna keep it put away for at least a couple more weeks to make sure the coatings have a chance to cure, then I'm gonna give it some torture testing with duct tape to see if the coating adheres to the paint after duct tape is ripped off, then maybe some gun cleaner to see if it will stand up to that. If it passes those tests then I'll probably leave it as is, if not I have 4 colors of Alumahyde2 coming to play with.
  10. This is what this man's closet looks like. Notice there are no shoe racks...
  11. Bad case of LBS : (LIMP BARREL SYNDROME)
  12. Sounds interesting ??? I've been drooling over one at a local pawn shop that specializes in firearms and your opinion on this weapon makes it harder to resist.

  14. I've been experimenting with firearm camo using inexpensive krylon camo paint from wally world. I did this tiger stripe pattern on my oem stock and forend from my gsg522. I then coated with clear rubberized coating to protect and give a textured grip. I have tried a couple different patterns and color combos on these parts but didnt take any photos of the others. I have a bead blast cabinet so removing the old paint is easy when i feel the urge to try a new idea.
  15. Lookin sweet :thumb:
  16. Pass... :P
  17. Good to know :thumb:
  18. Really? I thought that was their big selling point was the ambidextrous charging and ejecting.
  19. Looking forward to a range report on the Beretta when you get a chance. I've checked one out at a LGS and it felt pretty light and kinda cheaply built. For the price on them I woulda thought it would felt a bit more sturdy feeling. How much did you pay for yours? I'm right handed but one of my buddies I shoot with is a lefty so the ability to change from left to right handed is a great feature that makes it worth trying out if I had the extra cash. If you find yourself making any upgrades/mods be sure to post some gunporn. We are always eager to see what others are doin. :auto:
  20. OK here it is in its final form... maybe... Added the Black Aces rail, the original iron sights from my M&P 15-22 and Eotech clone red dot.
  21. yeah tell me bout it. ive seen the 30 round Plinker Tactical mags around town for about 30 bucks each be have read mixed reviews so Ive been leary but may pick one up to try. Wish I had more cash on me when I found them cuz you can never have enough mags. With any luck they'll still have a few when the bank says I can spend more money. If not i'll count myself lucky to find em when I did
  22. Third hand mod tutorial coming... ;D
  23. Yup now they're targeting backpacks and pressure cookers...
  24. Been keeping my eyes open since all the craziness started for mags for the 15-22 and haven't had any luck besides the WAY over inflated 10round mags, until today. I found a LGS that had about 8-10 Factory 25 rd Mags for the 15-22 so I picked up 2 for 23.99 each.
  25. Does that mean TM gets a corner office and secretary? :P
