BB6-213
Hey guys, I just picked up my M16 last week and have started on a few mods, and I have a couple questions. First, I am using a red/green dot scope, and the front sight is a little obtrusive, and I was wondering what the best way to fix this, either removing the front sight or using a raiser, it doesn't matter just whicher would be more accurate. Secondly, I am not a fan of the stock that it came with, and I have yet to see anyone with the M16 replace the stock, so I took a pic of the tube, so if anyone could varify that it is the same as the M4, then I can just get any mil-spec butt stock then correct? Thanks alot for the help guys![img width=800 height=449]http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll112/streetassassin213/2011-01-08_10-05-57_822.jpg
Microgunner
Welcome to T22. Removing the front sight will be more accurate because of parallax. Using a riser will be easier. I chose to use the Walther P55 red dot sight because the battery compartment acts as a riser.
rodent.22
Welcome! The M4 extension is totally different. Remember to remove the internal screw that actually holds the extension on.

Thats crazy they changed the extension tube, and even more crazy how much they charge for the parts to convert it lol. Looks like I will deal with the fixed butt stock for a while lol. Mike3990
I just ordered those parts that you need in order to put on the retractable buttstock. I'll let you guys know if I could fit my Magpul CTR buttstock on it. And maybe ill post a video or pictures on how to install those parts and the buttstock.
