asmurff Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I've turned into a fair weather shooter, I use to go anything it was into the 40s. Maybe I've just been spending to much time indoors and have lost my resistance to the cold. I guess I'm gonna have to work on that or get me some thermal drawers, cause I refuse to pay $20 plus to shot at the only indoor range.Well the weather guessers are saying mid 40s by the end of the week and I do need to adjust the scope on my 10/22 before this months Tactical 22 match. So that Michelen looking guy at the range may be me :P
lmao_37 Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 I thought southern men were ment to be tough :o
asmurff Posted January 10, 2011 Author Report Posted January 10, 2011 I'm not a southerner, I was born in Maryland and then moved every few years until I was mid 40s, so I don't what group I fit into ;D. I thought when I moved back to New Mexico from upstate New York I'd never think of it as cold here. This winter so far has had some very cold spells worse in ten years. I doesn't help taking blood thinners, I'm pretty sure they cause you to feel colder. Plus I've been basking in the New Mexico sun long enough now to have shed the NY layer of cold protection.Oh well it is suppose to warm up by Wednesday. :thumb:
wobblinwheel Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 I've actually been shooting INDOORS lately, as it has gotten COOOOOOOOOLD here in Virginia!! My older brother gave me a .22 "bullet trap". That thing is (for lack of a better word) just the SHIT! The longest distance I can shoot inside is about 40 feet from corner to corner, covering three rooms. Using CB's and the REALLY QUIET "Super Colibri's" I don't need ear protection. I've been doing this to sight-in two new scopes I have, from the prone position, and am getting 10-shot groups that are one continuous hole that can be covered with a DIME, in dead-center! I'm really curious to see how this setting translates at 50 to 100 yards with my usual high-velocity ammo! WHEN IT WARMS UP OUTSIDE!! I think it would be really neat if the "bullet-drop compensator" on each scope would zero me back in at these distances. Also, you guys need to brush-up on your spelling and grammar!!! LOL!

Alfa One Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 I have the same problem here. I haven't gone shooting since mid november because I think it's too cold to shoot outdoors.I do hope it gets warmer soon. I really want to shoot!
kevinpagano Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Hey Guys new to the forum and smurf. I think i know you and I will be competing with you for the Michelen man title this saturday. I hope its warm enough. I just built some new barricades and hope to bring in new targets soon. The range has been great in spending money. We will get our own storage soon. Sorry to hijack the thread. Kevin
