lmao_37 Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 I now have all the bits to finish my mosin project, the only thing i might do is refinish the rifle i just don't know which route to go i haven't ever parkerized a thing in my life but it does need something doing it has 90% of the bluing but it is scuffed around the muzzle looks like someone fitted the bayonet at some point any ideas guys .
asmurff Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 I've never done bluing either but have thought about doing DuraCoat on one of my 1911s.
techmike Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Duracoat is nice - many colors, but you will need an air brush and compressor. But is does tend to cover proof marks. Parkerizing and hot bluing is more than I ever wanted to invest in,tanks, chemicals, ect. Well, I stand corrected, you don't need a compressor/air brush any more for Duracoat.http://www.lauerweaponry.com/TM
