imschur
We are expecting snow and ice today and Tuesday with the potential for a whopper on Thursday.Never seen anything like this. Roofs collapsing everywhere. Many folks with water coming in because if ice dams in the gutters. We are at over 80" since Christmas.Where we are folks dont know how to handle all this snow and ice like folks do who live in snow country. The streets here are awful. Im in the city and all but the most main roads are now single lane. Buses and fire trucks have trouble fitting and making turns.
asmurff
These big snow storms may bankrupt some states.
Madhouse
We've had about 4 straight nights under freezing. On Wednesday we had rolling electricity blackouts throughout the state, forced by ERCOT.
asmurff
I think every night this past week was well below freezing and 3 of them below 0. Thursday they started losing natural gas pressure because of electric blackouts in Texas, which shut down pumps. Towns all over New Mexico lost gas and they declared a state of emergency so they could open shelters. We did't lose ours luckily, but I prepped my propane heater I use in the garage/shop just in case. I think we're going to add a kerosene heater as well to be on the safe side, as soon as there are some available again.
