+1 on the Boresnake - that is what I use for a mini clean. I have found a new-to-me product, Foaming bore cleaner by Gunslick that works very well for me. Simply squirt the stuff in the barrel, wait 30mins & run a few patches thru.  :thumb:

I have Boresnakes for most of the calibers I shoot. I usually use Hoppe's 9 also if it is warm enough for me to be in the garage with the door partially open. For when I can't clean in the garage keep the Gunslick foaming bore cleaner around and for those times I skip cleaning after each shooting session.

thanx guys! i had to buy a couple of kits... gunslick .22 cal kit.. and otis boresnake.. but the thing is... the borebrush for both kits are too long to fit in the chamber..  i wanted to do a muzzle to chamber cleaning... but then, i jus used the long rod from the gunslick kit to clean it. do u they sell a short borebrush for the colt?

The Otis field (cable) cleaning kits come with short brushes. This is one of my favorite cleaning kits when I want to do a better job. Even though I own several carbon fiber and teflon coated rods I almost never use them any longer.
