George Wood
I have inherited a 1903 Winchester fully auto 22. Rounds for this rifle are not available (that I know of) and was wondering if it is worth anything. Not tactical but a nice rifle.

techmike
Maybe remove the word "fully" and this would be the ammo for it??http://www.ammo-one.com/22WIN-AUTO.html
George Wood
Thanks TechMike. I remember that my father had a box or two of this ammo but over the years it has disappeared and I have not been able to find any. Too bad you can only get one carterage for this company. It is my understanding that around 1970 Winchester produced a specail run of this ammo but that too is long gone. Not sure how many of these rifles are still around but maybe someone will see a market and reissue.
techmike
Glad to help George. Another possibility is to reline the barrel. They can actually drill out the center of your barrel and insert a liner. Caliber changes are possible-perhaps turn it into a .22lr... Met a guy at the range that had a real old .22 rifle that didn't shoot well - he had it relined and it was a tack driver.http://www.bosesofnebraska.com/rebarreling.html Just one company that provides that kind of service. asmurff
George try e-mailing or writing American Rifleman they have a feature each month called I Have This Old Gun They always give the history and current values if they include it, plus they might give you an ammunition source. Microgunner
Beautiful rifle. Very much like the Winchester mod 63.
