OK I've been trying for like 5 hours to get this front sight off but still no luck. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. here's what I've tried.

1 rem oil

2 soldering iron

3 direct flame from candle

4 break parts cleaner

5 freezing with propane

6 paint thinner

tomorrow I'm going to try a blow torch, and if that doesn't work.

IT'S DREMEL TIME!!!

On the parts diagram the sight looks to be secured by a screw installed from the left side of the sight. Remove the screw and tap the sight off the rail (GENTLY).... :grin:Don't use a torch!

I know there's a screw on the front sight. But they've put some industrial strength Loctite on the threads. I;m thinking a blow torch on low would be enough to melt that loctite and allow the screw to come out.
