New to this... could use some guidance.

Just getting into guns, and bought a Remington 597 for my son and I to have some fun with... Now, I'm obsessed with this!

I have 2 things I'd like to explore:

1: What can I do / what would you suggest I do with the 597 to make it more accurate to 100yards?

2: I'm shopping for another rifle, and most likely it will be a bolt action so I can run sub sonic rounds through it (CCI CB's won't cycle in the 597). I'm looking at the Savage Mark II TR.

3: Are there any sub sonic's that will cycle in a semi auto (597 or 10/22)?

The subsonics I do not believe will cycle any semi-auto .22. I only shoot them from a bolt action rifle.

I don't think you can go wrong with any Savage rifle.

As for making the 597 more accurate I can't help, but there are others here who know about that sort of thing.

The Remington 552 Speedmaster will cycle sub-sonics.

It's built to reliably cycle 22 short, 22 long and 22 long rifle interchangably so sub-sonics are not a problem for it.

I believe there are others as well.
