asmurff Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 Can I get rid of my A2 front sight and replace it with a railed gas block without having to go to free floating hand guards. Right now I have basic Magpul handguards which I like.
imschur Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 yes BUT you need to make sure your gas block and sight combination get you to the proper height so the sights are on the same plane. On my .22 I had to add a riser block to use the MBUS with the factory gas block. Also if your thinking of using the MBUS, due to heat Magpul cautions against using them as I did.Why do you want to get rid of the A2 sight? Im actually regretting not installing the A2 style on many of my AR's

imschur Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 Keep in mind unless there a physical interference a scope with magnification will focus beyond the sight. Meaning it wont be in the way
