SW509 Posted July 18, 2013 Report Posted July 18, 2013 They are made by MFI for standard Sig Rifles, including the 522. I've been grinding my teeth for the last 3 weeks looking for irons for a 522, mine was apparently an "optics ready" model, which is basically a sweetened term for absolute minimum for the rifle, but all i saw was complaints with the Williams Peep sights, and links to "Affordable" sig 556 sights at 200+ dollars retail. For the average person, that's a lot for a .22 rifle accessory. Anybody have any experience with these?Sight:http://mfiap.com/i-8355707-mfi-sig-556-550-1-2-front-flip-up-sight.html
Microgunner Posted July 18, 2013 Report Posted July 18, 2013 I'm a big fan of the Magpul flip up sights. They work well and are less than $100 for the pair.No experience with the sights you've linked to though.
SW509 Posted July 19, 2013 Author Report Posted July 19, 2013 Well for 95 bucks i think i jumped the gun, but they were 30% off and i would have been disappointing to see the sale over or out of stock tomorrow. I'll put up a review when they arrive.
bdavison Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 Magpul flip sights wont work on the 522 unless you have the front rail hand guard version...there's no where to attach the front sight. The "gas block" on the front is flat on top, with the funky sig "weaver-style" dovetail.
SW509 Posted July 25, 2013 Author Report Posted July 25, 2013 Well, I got them in the mail 2 days ago, i'm working on getting them on but i've been kind of busy and the front sight is quite a job to install.
