I've shot up a fair bit of .45acp recently having got the XDS and a Hi-Point carbine it that caliber recently. While cleaning and prepping the brass I ran into Federal brass with small pistol primer pockets instead of the usual large pistol. A bit of research quickly showed I wasn't a screw up but lot but a change in some of the Federal 45brass. The brass on the left is large pistol and on the right is small pistol notice the headstamp difference. I guess Fiocchi is doing it also.

Add Blazer Brass to this also.

Sucks, doesn't it? I have read stories of folk with progressive presses that had a primer light off when they unknowingly tried to compress a large primer into one of those with small pockets. Boom.

I found these while cleaning primer pockets during prep, and was able to sort them to do separately.

I'm going to do some more looking to see which items of Federal and Blazer come with the small pistol primer.
