My most dreaded task when reloading rifle cartridges is measuring/trimming the brass. I saw this gadget in Shot Gun News, and it is up next on my "to order list" - $132 for the gadget, $20 per caliber bushing. Trim-It-II

Yes, no more measuring brass, just trim it to spec every time quickly and easily.

So once I put the .223 die in place, put in the case all I have to do is line up the cutter unto the rim of the mouth. There is no need to adjust the amount of the trimming done it automatically brings it down to 1.750"?

yes, my understanding is that the die indexes on the neck of the cartridge and trims to the correct length. This procedure is done after sizing.
