rodent.22
you know, the .327 Ruger guns will shoot .32 H&R also....Cabelas offers this caliber, both new and reload.
imschur
how about the other way around? Can my S&W 32H&R utilize the .327 Ruger?
rodent.22
no its a one-way situation, according to what I read in the May Guns & Ammo on page 82....my .32 mag Bisley will shoot .32 S&W long, .32 Shorts (if you can find them). Depending on your cylinder chamber size, the .327 might go, but I'd check the books for pressure readings and OAL specs.
asmurff
What do you shoot the 32 H&R Magnum in, revolver or rifle? Has it always been a speical order item?
rodent.22
Smurf, occasionally I will run across a box of .32 H&R magnums. They aren't too common now, you could find them easier in the mid 90's. Revolvers only....

rodent.22
I researched the .327, It is an improved .32 mag case (1/8'' longer and thicker case), MUCH HIGHER pressures.
imschur
I beginning to think my 32H&R is going to be a fossil. It appears ammo retailers have been waiting on Federal to spit out a batch of ammo for a while. :-[
rodent.22
If you just want to plink, .32 S&W Long is usually available online.....I've purchased it at WM in the old days

rodent.22
Smurf I've got a NEF (H&R) .32 mag revolver, a '95 or so model made on antique tooling from H&R. A good shooter but OLD FASHIONED....Several makers chambered for this round but it never took off...
imschur
Ive been doing some digging. It looks like a lot of places are taking orders expecting two different loads from Federal. The first in July and the other late fall. I may order a case and call it a life time supply and Ill save the brass.
